For me the absolutely highlight of this concert! A guy in his middle 50's behind me couldn't stop tears falling down.. I never felt so amused and happy and excited and enjoyed at a gig! Well done MUSE

Yes but it was tuned down one step. The studio version he sang in A4 (the belted note). In this video he sang it in G4. Back in 2004-2007 they only tuned in down half a step so it would still be difficult for matt to sing it in G#4 back then.

He had never sung A4 live (one attempt), and only once belted G#4 in 2003. The other ones were falsettos

Spt 03 he still sings a4 live, "The Handler" for instance. Its not belting, but he's hitting it still in 2018.

I know starlight is horrendously overplayed, but it actually is one of their best songs. I don't mean that to diminish the rest of their discography, I just think because familiarity breeds contempt people have lost just how fucking amazing starlight is.
