2O YEARS OF SING FOR ABSOLUTION 🎉 Timeless gem.
Lyrics: Lips are turning blue A kiss that can't renew I only dream of you My beautiful Tiptoe to your room A starlight in the gloom I only dream of you And you never knew Sing for absolution I will be singing Falling from your grace There's nowhere left to hide In no one to confide The truth burns deep inside And will never die Lips are turning blue A kiss that can't renew I only dream of you My beautiful Sing for absolution I will be singing Falling from your grace Sing for absolution I will be singing Falling from your grace Our wrongs remain unrectified And our souls won't be exhumed

This song has one of the best breakdowns in all Muse history in my opinion. Especially when you can hear the long guitar notes overlaid with their harmonic series and the chromatic shift at the end

@underscorechaz

@@harry_1077 so what if one or two chords are inspired? Muse made them sound like a space age dystopia anthem with insane vocals, genius incorporations of piano, and a chord progression and build up much better than Paranoid Android IMO; muse is the confident, bold brother of the angsty Radiohead teen at this point. Today, Muse continuously evolve in some daring directions, while radiohead, ever since the genius unexpected Kid A released 22 years ago, hasn't really changed that much not gonna lie... still amazing stuff, but when they did a re-release of Kid-A with a few new songs, I already knew pretty much what sound I was about to hear... with the upcoming "Won't Stand Down" Muse single, I have played the ig live snippet on repeat to speculate what the next album will sound like; Long story short, has Muse been influenced by Radiohead? yeah. Are both bands' ethos the same? not in any way.

this is one of the more eerie ballads you may ever hear. It still sends shivers down my spine. It is a song that to me shows that they can still produce a song like "unintended". They have always treated love like a war zone in their music and this is a perfect representation of that. I mean, when has a ballad ever hit you that hard?
This album is such a masterpiece

this is HEAVEN !!!
The first time I listened carefully to the lyrics, I felt something like a deja-vu. Some time passed and, as I was preparing for a romanian literature exam, I came upon an old poem written by Mihai Eminescu: Evening Star (you can find it's english translation on the web, I recommend the one made by Petre Grimm). And then it clicked. It is a poem that I read as a child, without understanding the subtle symbolism. The Evening Star falls from the sky and tip-toes in the room of the loved one, but the woman, even if she asked for him in her dreams, is afraid of him because he looks either like a dead angel or a fiery demon. As she falls in love with another earthling, The Evening Star realises that he can't fall from his grace for a fickle human. At some point she remembers him, chants for him again, but The Evening Star's absolution doesn't fall upon her again...

After becoming a massive Muse fan in 2009 when The Resistance was released, I remember going through their other four albums to catch up on what I had missed. I stumbled across this song and it sounded hauntingly familiar. I then saw the music video here on KZread and had the weirdest feeling I had seen it before. It took me a good few years but I finally worked out that this song and video had been included on the Brits 2005 CD which had been in my house and I had listened to for several years by that point. Turned out I loved Muse before I even knew I did, and damn it I still do 7 years later and always will.

Why doesn't anyone make music like this any more 😪

Esta fue la primera canción que escuché de Muse y hasta hoy estoy enganchado a esta tremenda banda!

3:52 I feel like we all need to go into a field and scream this part for about an hour
This video is the best thing that ever happened to me especially at 3:22 when it's like collision alert and Matt's like lol be rate

It's so sad to hear that.
This video is much better done than any blockbuster of hollywood, cause in such a short time the whole story is well done, exciting, and original
Matt's voice is sp beautiful. I always want to have voice like him 😢
2024 - STILL listening.
The combination of video and music just gives me goosebumps. This has to be the best music video ever created.
They need to remaster this😭 Or make a full length movie 😁
There best album in my eyes. How 3 guys can make the sound they do is amazing!!! Marky Shaw
My favorite Muse song, it’s so beautiful
MUSE... what else needs to be said. Making hits since their formation in 1994.

Only 2 extremely famous and inspirational people have died so far. Can we please go to an Alt 2016 where David Bowie and Alan Rickman didn't die?

*SING FOR ABSOLUTION! I WILL BE SINGING, FALLING FROM YOUR GRACE YEAH!!~*
I'm related to one of the few guys that worked on this video for muse in Sheffield back in the day! Personally I believe this should mean I get free tickets with VIP entrance to every gig ever ever! Get to meet the band... share guitar stories with Matt, write a song together, learn slap bass from Chris and have Dom teach me a simple drum beat because I suck at drums! :D:D:D ...But this world sucks and I have to settle being the speck in the crowd singing the lyrics as loud as I can to each song hoping that one day my existence might mean something to the greatest band that ever was :) 'reality check' inc
