I'm obsessed with 2:52. That note gives me chills. I think this and Showbiz are without a doubt my favorite Muse songs. I wish they still made songs with this kind of vocal power. It's haunting.

finaly, someone who actualy knows what theyre talking about. no matter what you class yourself as, it makes no difference to your potential range. its just what you feel most comfortable singing and can do most accurately . impressive falsetto btw :) i can occasionally force myself high enough for this (G#5) but its only 50-50 and all the lyrical meaning goes above about C flat 5...

Bellamy's vocal range isn't abnormal, and with training, most men with any talent could do it, but Matt Bellamy's vocal chords are strangely small, allowing him to sing so high without the amount of practice it usually takes. His vocal range goes from A2 (Spiral Static, 2:24), up to G#5 (Micro Cuts, 2:53). His highest live note is A5 during some live performances of Showbiz, although the final scream of the chorus in the Radio 1 version of Muscle Museum approaches an A#5. Brilliant singer :]

I sing this song like no other. It is my second favorite song, next to showbiz, and I wish that they had an official video, but this is good too

It's a little bit of both. You can be taught it, but you have to have a very good teacher to learn it. It does help if your boive is naturally prepared for that, but it's not necessary. Some people even lose it. Then people like my mother have to teach them how to do it again.

It's not his range that amazes me...it's his control. Ok i lied. His chest range is freaking ridiculous but his falsetto range anyone can achieve. Not trying to downplay his amazingness just don't let his range discourage you. As for his control...good luck cause what he has exceeds practice and experience. Pure talent.
