Not many people know what the song is really about, not even many Muse fans. Matt has said (on one occasion about 22 years ago) that the song is about admiring how a child can radiate happiness. "Everything about you resonates happiness". Just pure joy and bliss, without having to worry about anything, without any adult responsibilites, without having been exposed to stuff in life yet. And he said that he misses that feeling of being a child and would want to experience it again as an adult. "Everything about you is so easy to love, they're watching you from above" literally means adults looking down at children and loving them. "Everything about you is how I'd wanna be, your freedom comes naturally". A child can be completely in the moment, completely free, and be happy. And Matt envies that. "Everything about you pains my envying". He wants that for himself. "Give me all the peace and joy in your mind, I want the peace and joy in your mind". We've all had that when we were kids, but we grew out of it slowly. We can remember things from our childhood, but none of us really remember what it felt like being a child and what that carefree state of mind was like. "Your soul can't hate anything". A child is incapable of hating anything or anyone the same way adults are. If something hurts a child, they might cry for a minute, but they will forget it in an instant and go on living their blissful, happy existence without growing to hate it. Another interesting thing is that the background synth track is pretty much stolen from the theme music to a 1992 kids video game called Top Gear for the Super Nintendo (not that anyone ever sued Matt over it). Literally a game for kids. And a third interesting fact: In the early 2000's, they used to play this song live all the time with those huge balloons unleashed upon the audience about halfway through the song. Those balloons are literally something that kids would go crazy over, not adults, because adults don't care about balloons. Kids would jump up and down out of joy if they had balloons like that. But so did the audience. For a brief moment, the people in the audience got to feel that bliss and joy of being a child, lost in the present moment. All in all, it's a song about kids! :D

I like how they start off with the song. I even think it's better than the studio version. It's starts off calm, then goes BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SYNTHESIZERS, DRUMS, BASSLINE, AND GUITAR = TOTAL BLISS. WHAT MORE CAN YOU GET FROM THIS LIVE VERSION????? It's simply a rare jewel.

The DVD is TOTALLY WORTH IT, AND THERE IS NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. Every song in the set list is played exquisitely and much more better than the studio version. Take a look at Bliss! It's start in the live version changes everything that the studio version has done. It makes much more impact as it goes all out with the synthesizers, guitar, bass, and drums from which it came from as an unexpected calm, steady intro.

I got rejected to this song about 6 months ago, I really thought I had something with her y'know, it felt special, everytime I listen now I think of her, it's hard to listen to a song with so many mixed feelings attached. When I hear the song I just think about what I could've had, and it gets me everytime. The raw emotion of the song hits me somewhere inside, and I feel a pang of regret for not being patient, for not getting to know her better. I've got over it in every other way, problem is, I love this song too much to let go of. I have a partner now, and I'm happy, but a part of me will always hurt when thinking of how low I felt at that moment in time, if I'd just left it a little longer, I probably would feel ok listening to this song, I'd have probably had a chance. I'm in a happy relationship, but I can't even bring myself to talk to her now, I miss having her as a friend, I can get over my feelings for her, but we've drifted and I don't know what to do, I'm too awkward to simply say it, and talking to my boyfriend now will just make me feel worse, I don't want sympathy, I just need to say something, even on some random part of the internet. O hit a low point in my life recently, and my boyfriend is the only thing that's stopped me from leaving. Sorry for the comment, I needed to get it out of my system.
