    No worries. We have about 6 dual cab v8s in my line of work. Sometimes I forget how long they are. Biggest issues we have are alternator failing and notchy gear changes. One has over 200k on it and one 76 series has 340k. They live in dirt 24/7 since new. Top work once again

    I really like your videos Ronny, you Aussies have it great out there for off roading compared to us Brits. Finding places to go in the UK is difficult and we are often frowned upon by society for driving off road. Since I'm a Brit, I have a love affair with Land Rovers, but would sell up straight away if I could get my hands on a V8 70 Series like yours here! Odd request I know, but the music track at the beginning of your video has really got into my head, would you be able to tell me what it is called so I can find the whole track? Cheers!

    +Hikmat Ullah I too wish they would sell those vehicles here in the US. After doing much research on the subject, I have found that it boils down to these vehicles not passing the US EPA emissions standards. Toyota toyed with reintroducing the diesel pickup with the 3.0D for the 2016 model year in the US but it was discovered that they could not produce this engine at a suitable base horsepower meeting the emissions standards without cutting back on performance so they discarded the idea.

  • @Ronny_Dahl

    @Ronny_Dahl

    9 жыл бұрын

    either are just fine. Alloy are great for looks but dont fair well when they meet rocks side on, so expensive alloys are not the best option if you want to do tracks with rock rash risk. Steel are cheap and easy to repair also they have far more options when it comes to different sizes and off-sets. For that reason I prefer Steel, I have bash 2 of my rims with a hammer to fix them after some heavy contact, if I had alloy an hammer won't do anything.

    Hi Ronnie! Is that my impression that you haven't dropped your tyres pressure. If had been done I am sure that mud tracks and hill climbing on that ground would have helped to drive through. Also were dif lockers used? If so, would that apply to all cars? Also, I've noticed that your truck was the one supplying a good lighting at night. What is involved for that to be so good? Well...the Blown Diff Burger need no comments except... was it as good as it looks? It seems that a high lift jack would come handy :-)) Thanking you in advance. Ariel

  • @Ronny_Dahl

    Ariel Tendeiro our tyres are always dropped no matter the conditions, the lockers were used a fair bit on this trip especially on those rock sections and all vehicles had lockers on this trip. With the lighting at camp I use my LED strip lights and there are about 4-5 of them on also the reflective walls in the canopy bounces double the light out...Diff burger was good until halfway :P

    thanks ***** I used my Canon 5D mark iii, then put all the stills together in post. Gopros are good until the end of a sunset and I use the gopro for most of my day time timelapses.

    cheers Ronny Dahl, i had a feeling it would've been something like that. I've caught some great sunset time lapse shots with the go pro, but with a non adjustable shutter speed, etc. they don't tend to pick up the light very well in low light situations

    G'day *****, we use Hema 5i and Hema6 along with paper maps. Before we go anywhere I tend to study Google Earth maps for hours on end and print a few out with on a big Photo printer. Have heard some good things about Mud maps but yet to give it a go.

    Are the insects bad there? Flying ones mainly. My main problem here in the States - lots of flying insects that are really annoying.

    mimixownzall ohhhh yeah, insects can be pretty bad sometimes which is why we love or camp fires and bats which keep a lot of them away, lucky for us in Aus those giant soldier ants (1-2 inches in size) are usually only out during the day time. Mash Flies (hate those as they bite) and regular flies are the worst at day time, sometimes so bloody bad you need a face fly net, apart from that we get plenty of big and small flying insects, Big spiders, centipedes, scorpions and everything else... if your close to the fire you wont get anything...
