Nice demo of the support which intrigues me as a guitarist who likes playing classical guitar sometimes and helpful note about moving it a bit to get a good angle.

I bought the woodside support after watching that video , its super , suction cups never again , the ergoplay i had is in the rubbish bin . thank you for your videos

Ya, the Woodside feels pretty good. I just have to remember to really tighten the angle adjustment to make it doesn't slip.

One of the things I love about the Guitarlift is the (very noticeable) increase in resonance you get from having the back of the guitar off of your body. Well, my body. :-)

Hi, I’m having a hard wax oil finish classical guitar, and suction cup won’t stick on directly , what type of support do you suggest or any film that is harmless for the finish? Thanks very much

I'm not sure for the UK but String by Mail have them in the US. You could ask the London Guitar Studio if they can order them...

Very thorough review, thank you. What supports do you like now? You could 3d print any shape and size for the leg curved piece that you liked.

I mainly use my ErgoPlay Troster at home and a GuitarLift on stage. I like the Ergoplay the most but trust the GuitarLift to stay on more.

@@pkelecy I'm currently using Le Support as my new primary guitar support. But I also like the Woodside and the Ergoplay as well. I really like my Ergoplay but I don't trust it to stay on, well not 100% anyway. The Woodside is good, totally solid, adjustable and trustworthy. I would be happy to use the Woodside but sometimes during teaching or practice I find it's a bit of a contraption on my guitar. On stage while playing though it would be good. I just happen to like my Le Support.

@@Thisisclassicalguitar -thanks for the additional info. You're right about the Woodside being a bit of a contraption, but from an aesthetics standpoint none of them (except perhaps a foot stool) are that great imo. Other than possibile suction cup detachment (which for non-professional use is less of an issue) the main issue I've read about with many of these supports is how they position the guitar more to the left than perhaps ideal. Since you mentioned the ErgoPlay Troster (which I don't believe you've reviewed), how is its adjustability? Are you able to keep the guitar body more centered while maintaining a good neck angle? I did see your review of the Le Support, and it does look like a good design (basically an improved Guitar Lift). It's pretty expensive though compared to other options, and I'm not sure for my purposes (primarily practice) it would be worth the cost. I'm currently using a Dynarette cushion, and I'm mainly looking for something that will give me a higher neck angle and more central positioning of the guitar. I expect the Woodside would do that and perhaps the Troster. Just trying to decide which one to try next. Thanks again.

I find I can get the guitar quite over to the right side enough that the soundhole is a bit on my right. But I also use a steep angle like most modern players so that automatically brings the head of the guitar closer to the shoulder. The Ergoplay Troster is pretty good but the suction cups will have to placed where there is a bit of a bend on the guitar (if you want it over to your right side more) so there is suction cup failure opportunity. But I still like my Ergoplay. Le Support, as I mention in the video, is maxed out for positioning on my small scale guitar, I love but that is the only concern for me. The Woodside should work because you can always angle it off your leg if need be. The GuitarLift might do best for what you are describing since there is more wiggle room for position. For most people starting out with supports I usually recommend the Ergoplay though, always good to have around.

Any thoughts on a support for a child's 3/4 size guitar? Is there only the Children's ErgoPlay Tappert Guitar Support? Thanks.

Ya, the Ergoplay is good bet. Also, I think the HB Lite Support might be great for students.
