Fellow American here, it wasnt until recently I discovered I had even a lick of Scandinavian blood in my after hearing the story my family's passed down through generations, I always just thought I was Cherokee and German, turns out it's more like 25% Cherokee / Crow, and the rest is more or less mixed Scandinavian, Danish, and very northern German. Hearing that inspired me enough to make a bearded axe, because why not. I currently use it to process firewood

You likely already know this, but sharing for others too: when the conquistadors from Spain came to the central and southern shores of the lands of the Condor, both African & Nordic traders - who were likely following an old tradition of intercontinental trade - fought side by side with the Aztecs against the Spanish colonizers. When the world is normal/functional again, the best thing that i can think of, would be an international "Warriors Convention": be it your ancestors, anothers, a lost or still existing society/nation, it would be a place to explore, learn, share and trade the amazing things about each other's histories and remember/pass on amazing things to one another that would also build a sense of respect and pride for everyone. I love the relentless buildup of this piece- at once strong, ponderous, and full of weight. It really makes the climax at 5:30 otherworldly. I like how you expertly conveyed a steady rise of tension and portence and they released all of the builtup energy in a final explosion of wild freedom. I’ve been drawn to this music for awhile now. Since my return from Afghanistan and Iraq there’s not been a lot that puts my mind at peace. Thank you for the music it keeps the warrior alive inside when there are days I don’t wanna go forward anymore. Thank you again from the United States!

The ancient city of Uruk in Mesopotamia, where Gilgamesh lived, had lots of cow/bovine motifs associated with royalty. In the Epic of Gilgamesh he is referred to as a raging bull. I wonder if there is any connection, same with city of Ur.

According to the source called Secrets of Amenti the origin of the word "Culture" comes from the ancient CULT of UR, refering to the worship of UR... I would assume it points to the same animal archetype of power merging different ancient cultures. Whereas there is not many or none direct evidences left the lingvistic is often last field which may "point to the direction" at least... Viktor Konczi Viktor Konczi Pls read my previous comment once again and note I have not made any connection with the city of Ur but with the animal archetype of power - the bull - specifically Bos Primigenius, the ancient ancestor of all modern cattle breeds which was a wild animal known under the names Auer/Auroch or Pratur/Tur. It was one of the first species domesticated by mankind and obviously the first animal to help the man to cultivate the land... Let´s try to look at the activity of cultivation in broader picture now... @@roadfolks "Culture" derives from the latin word "cultura" which in turn derives from "colere" (to inhabit or till). Also, the German word for the Aurochs is either "Ur" or "Auerochse", not "Auer".

My grandad passed away resently. He was such a remarkbale person, and fought so nobely with cancer in his final moments, that he more deserved be sent to a river on boat with all goods what he got in his life, than buried underground. For some reason for me, this song is heavily associated with him, and inspiring me to be a Man like he was. [Hello from Russia]

I was listening to Wardruna and communing with the Gods, and this popped up randomly and grabbed me by the soul so hard that I had to listen twice. Absolutely amazing.

My shield grew heavy, my vision was blurred from blood, the sound of mens cries stifled my ears. Metal crashed with bone, life crashed with death. I gripped my axe hard and fierce, i lifted my eyes to the sky of smoke and ash. "Allfather! Let me die well!"

Sköl. I can feel the "Hunter" comin' outta me, just by listening to this. But also the "Viking/Norse" sounds, very soothing and mind relaxing. I may not be a Viking, nor a Norse, but I do love your taste in music. Plus, this beat is awakening something inside of me. I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing, but let's just say it's an Old Norse thing. But the music was good, keep making more of em.

Oh, what a beautiful song. It makes me feel like treeking through the snow in a mountain forest, taking from nature only what I need. Or maybe my childhood, where we wound go on Istland horses, off track, sometkmes during thunderstorms. THAT teaches you respect for nature! (and for those horses too, they never trip or get scared!) At the same time, this has such a gentle note, as in 'there is a gentleness in true strength'. The beat sounds a bit like the heart of the world itself, esp in the beginning. Makes you want to start a fire and stomp along. Ah, what a song! Kinda want the rune tatoowed somewhere now too, Like right above the heart. Though it is not near one that would describe me well... It reminds me of Something,,, idk what, though. This is waaaayyyy long, but by the chance anyone reads this, thank you for making this♡ Skål! PS: I Finally know what the burning rune reminds me of! The Aurochs was the original cattle from which all others originated. They were hunted as a prize, being the magnificent beast that they were. ROughly 50% larger than any modern cow or bull, they were a formidable opponent.

really is sad what happened to them. They were still around as late as the 17th century with the last one hunted down in southern Poland. But time heals all wounds - one day the great woods of the North European Plain will be regrown, and their cousins will leave the farms to fill out the niche they once held, again.

They are bringing them back (slowly) by breeding backwards, look it up it is quite facinating and some of the early result are stunning

@@bentalexranebundgaard4867 the germans did that in 1937. Hermann Goering the Jaggermeister hunted them on his private reserve in Poland. Apparently the poles killed most of them because the breed was super aggressive. But some manage to survive in the deepest forests in Poland and Germany.
