I would run away from that company - where they tell me that rhodium plating sounds bad, and the solder should be lead-free )) I have been soldering since the 80s, I regularly assemble speakers and I know very well the effect of solder on the sound - how much I suffered with these green ones EU-solders, environmental ones (which even NASA abandoned) - until I realized that it was harsh. The unpleasant sound is precisely because of the green solder. There are a lot of tests on KZread, when lead-containing solders, in particular Kester, win by ear. I know many amplifier designers who will NEVER use lead-free solders. By the way, WBT solders whose brand XXX0 - also contain lead. By the way, AECO connectors are very high quality, I use four of them (ARP-4045R).

yeah, they don't seem to understand. I only use rhodium. Only copper. Only lead free + Au + Cu

I didn't know that lead sounded better, I always use silver and copper. But thanks for the content. I'll try and listen.

Regarding the connectors, these are only copper with rhodium plating.

@@AudiophileHighEndAudio there are several reasons why Sn63/Pb37 is better. 1. High frequencies are transmitted better by shiny soldering, while high frequencies are transmitted worse by dull soldering (lead-free soldering is almost always cloudy). 2. The soldering temperature is at least 60-80C lower than lead-free (290C again 360C) - heating at 400C is not very good for radio components. 3. Ductile lead adds flexibility to connections - the connection is more reliable. I personally recommend Kester, MBO, Chemet, Broquetas, Asahi (you can also WBT XXX0 - they add 4% silver), preferably with a ratio of 63/37 - this is pure eutectic. It’s just that in Europe the use of NON-green solder is prohibited - that’s why companies are afraid of fines.

The more time passes, the more High End Audio production seems delirious in size and price: as if the goal was to no longer sell products! The professional world has never reached such levels of absurdity... Fortunately!

@@AudiophileHighEndAudio yes, it‘s apparently like that! On the other hand I can image it is also exhausting… as one can basically only look and touch the Hifi- gear …and rarely listen to it. Anyway there are simply too many exhibitors to get a full picture of everything. One has to pick out one’s favorites. Good job 👍🏼

european brands of speakers and turntables have no equal as work of art. phonostage preamp and amp are their weak points they use chinese crap tubes. i have diy phonostage using telefunken 12AX7 i compared to the overrated AR phonostage, mine is the winner handsdown. the AR owner was embarassed.

@@tonymckay6556 Try Line-Magnetics amps, they use Russian and Chinese tubes, and yet they're pure marvels to listen to. You have to be careful with Chinese products: under the same brand, there's good and not so good, and I think the big brands select the best components. The trouble with the Chinese is that they don't throw anything away, and even production scraps are still sold. They just can't understand that their execrable reputation stems from this nasty habit !
