I'm Sixty years old this year - never thought I would ever hear again as good as what I grew up with as a young child. My god. Stunning. Not possible to get anything better. ...Ever. That's as good as it gets, as good as it got, as good as it will ever be. This is equivalent to Miles Davis.

This never fails to move me... Ustad sahab has that unmistakable divinity in his voice that few others possess. Aapko hardik pranaam Ustad sahab. Very unfortunate that the obvious shared knowledge of, and appreciation for, such artistry (among other things) is not enough to keep India-Pakistan ties strong. May it be that I am proved wrong in my lifetime...

I was mesmerized by the way Ustad Ji began this divine rendition of Raag Adana with the Dhrupad style Alaap. There are very few Dhrupad artists in the world today. Both India and Pakistan need to work to preserve their rich Classical Musical heritage. I wish I can listen more of Ustad Ji ' s pure classical music recordings. Love & Respect to Ustad Ji from India.

I feel that Rohail Hyatt's Coke Studio was more about the music and it's beautiful nuances, the house band and their stellar performances, and the song being larger than the sum of it's parts. It's not flashy lights and unnecessary electric guitar solos as Coke Studio has become now. What we have now is a mere hollow shell of this Coke Studio that has more style than substance, barring a few songs.

O why o why have we not heard of this Ustad before or after Coke Studio. I really really hope and pray he is not living in poverty like so many other classical singers in Pakistan. That taan at the start can only come from years of riyazat, sweat, tears and blood.

A lot can be said about this song, and has already been said by so by all the people who wanted to have a say, but almost all missed one peculiar aspect of it, that this masterpiece rendition consists of only two verses and the master has sung those two verses in about 100 different styles if I am not wrong. Hats off sir and take a bow.
