Multirotor Flying Saucer Test

Ғылым және технология

Testing some Multiwii code changes on my UFO quad. Sorry about the shaky video, my 9 yr old kid doesn't get the concept of standing still when shooting video.

Working on a new larger version of this saucer now. 7 ft diameter, 8 rotors, nylon outer cover to prevent rips and light system. The increased volume will add 656g of extra lift when filling it with hydrogen. It will have a considerable amount of reserve thrust for counteracting pitching forces, which this smaller model doesn't have.

Awesome! Time to add some LED lights to it. Some for orientation and others to put on a light show! Ha ha! Saw this in RC Groups and now subscribed to your channel. All the best and Happy flying!

RonALampman I do have a 3W light system I built for it, but I'm a little low on thrust to lift it. I'm going to add four more motors and turn it into an octo saucer, then lift will be insane :) I actually just need a really large amount of reserve thrust to fight off the pitching forces, which are quite strong with that much surface area.
