This is cool but I think it works in Sheets without the N and N* function... just use (,) and keep adding logical tests. Anyway thanks this was very very helpful with the spill function for duplicates. Just what I was looking for.

Correct, but I like my spreadsheets compatible for both if possible.

your title said you would do it with XLOOKUP!!. Also it is unhelpful to do Sheets, Exce. for windows, Excel for Mac and Excel OnLine in one video. PICK A LANE at least for a single video. BTW: N functions; SERIOUSLY? As an Excel desktop 365 user I NEVER use N functions. Make it clear to your viewers that Microsoft created N functions only for compatibility with other programs.

The point is that you wouldn't use XLOOKUP or VLOOKUP, that's what people think they should use. Also N function rocks. It serves as a great wrapper function instead of just using bunch of nested parenthesis that make things confusing. Doesn't really make any difference why Microsoft created it. It's a quick and reliable way to convert true/false to 1/0.

@@ExcelGoogleSheets title TOTALLY deceptive regardless of their efficacy. FILTER handles TRUE/FALSE just fine on its own. I use FILTER regularly and often as a lookup function and never have needed an N function to improve efficiency.
