I think Jorbs might have a little analysis paralysis problem. It makes him a fun streamer, though.

I love how it seems like you’re enjoying spire more on recent vids, and how you vocalize what you’re thinking about when making decisions more often. Maybe monster train alleviated the repetitiveness of spire runs?

Jorbs has been swapping for boss relics more often lately. I think it makes for some pretty interesting runs!

The Enlightenment + Runic Pyrimid combo seems like some slower discount Snecko Eye

32:36 Jorbs talks about some cards and takes runic pyramid. I think he should just start saying "For reason A through Z, I am going to take a runic pyramid here." Which IS a testament to how powerful runic pyramid is.

Woah - the game read the energy counter when you queued Multi-Cast rather than waiting for the previous card to resolve. That's wack.

As a software engineer, my _guess_ is that the game keeps a flat queue of cards to run. It resolves the X values when the cards _enter_ the queue as opposed to when they leave the queue. I think this is because energy is deducted when a card is _dequeued_ (ie. played), which gives rise to the X+X (rather than X+0) semantics of double-playing an X-cost card. This also makes it hard to fix -- you would need to track insertion times of cards (multiply played cards get the same insertion time) and then store the energy until the dequeued time changes. It's extra subtle because the bug wouldn't come up in slow, casual playtesting or in (non-concurrent) automated tests. You can see at 3:32:00 that @Jorbs lets go of the card juuuust before the energy counter bumps up to an 8. You can also see how it waits for the previous card to resolve before dequeuing the 6-cost Multi-Cast.

Jiggly Soda everyone told him to take frozen eye and he told them if he did, he would spend an hour at the heart fight... he proceeded to take frozen eye then spend an hour plus at the heart.. can’t say he isn’t a man of his word. I think he enjoyed drawing that fight out and being dramatic about it. A nice middle finger to those who tell him what to do.

Simple question, just bought the game but how can I have the beta art card? It confuses me since I’m so use to seeing them like that from Jorbs video

Those are beta art. Fan (or maybe also dev?) made art that was put there as a placeholder. You unlock it by beating the game and can then freely switch the art of each individual card.

I blame frozen eye.

He totally could of gotten biased cog first turn by using ftl to proc centennial puzzle and ink bottle then used cool headed twice in the heart fight.

I can't really read what he draws because of the color, anyone else has this problem?

Heya jorbs, I just did one of the sickest silent runs it had what I think is probably a once in a lifetime combo. Was wondering if you've every had this happen before. This deck pretty much mostly was a relic combo. Relics: tungsten rod, blue candle, necronomicom and runic pyramid. Cards: after image+ Play after image turn 1 and use wraith form to survive fights in the first cycle through the deck. Once you draw necronomicurse you can play it because of blue candle and won't lose life because of tungsten rod. Afterglow lets you generate infinite block and runic pyramid let's you keep holding the necronomicurse ever turn. So you can slowly kill any enemy. I picked up a choke along the way to make this process faster. I felt like a god.

he's done blue candle necronomicurse shenanigans with ironclad (feel no pain + juggernaut). with silent it's not as good because afterimage only makes the necronomicurse worth playing if you also have tungsten rod, plus the combo doesn't beat the heart.

roy wagh No it doesn’t, Heart has a damage cap and on A19/20 you need 2 Afterimages to block the Beat of Death.

@@meathir4921 nope tungsten rod will block the beat of death alongside the one after image. and to get around the damage cap you just need some sources of intangible (although i do understand that not every deck is gonaa find a wraithform or some apparitions)

He’s slowed down since he used to do speed runs to try for records for fun.. he really burnt himself out. Now though he gets tons of requests from folks to explain things and so he’s slowed down to explain his thought process. You got to understand there is probably no one else in the world who has as many A20 wins/runs as Jorbs.

Do you take any enjoyment in this game when taking over 10 minutes for some combat turns? The length of time you spend looking at your draw pile or even your card list on the main screen whilst not talking or even doing anything will knock an hour off of all your videos easily. That turn at 2 hours and 34 minutes in, taking well over 10 minutes on one combat turn, how many times did you need to look at your draw pile over and over on that one turn, the draws arent going to magically change, you know what cards are in there, I dont understand why instead of editing all the fluff out and leaving your subs with a 20 minute to the point video you choose to leave your subs sat there watching you flick between your cards and whatever screen for one and a half hours every video without fail....... Stopped watching and starting writing this comment half way through that turn and I am still finished before you've even played a card or spoken louder than mumbling volume. Anyway 40k people seem to be sticking to around to watch you literally sit looking at your computer for over an hour and a half with bare minimum commentary during that time on every video you post. Not often I bash tubers but this is just lazy, cut and paste any successful runs in their entirety from twitch, anyway good day but am out,
