it has become pretty common (since its been popularized by ring or simplysafe security systems) and it is simply easier to use wifi plus wifi jammers are relatively new tech the thieves have used (at least around LA), its only been widely reported maybe less than a year ago and the cops are trying to crackdown on it, they can find and detect wifi jammers too but sometimes its too late by then so there’s a chance if you havent updated your security lately, it will be vulnerable to such devices with that said, it looked like an inside job so it might not even matter if they knew their way around the house

Tpg Hollywood Hills home invasion came to mind straight away.

Thanks man. I got a list of all the ref/serial numbers and sent it to several watch dealers. Hopefully it will help.

There was about 100 watches. I have the list. Pretty crazy. A safe would most likely be his best bet.

Terrible! They will def have a hard time unloading those pieces. My man you have a multi-million dollar collection without a safe? Not blaming him for what happened but that is a huge mistake. A safe may not have stopped them but it should would have slowed them down and make it very hard to find and take the watches. Your collection is in the millions - its worth 25-40k for a bank level vault that could even be hidden so its hard to break into and find!

He probably thought he had it covered with his security system, but yes watches of those values belong in a highly rated fireproof safe. He would have lost them in a fire too.
