Hey Liam, nice channel, thanks. The 'odd' fuse holder is designed to fit in from the back of the panel so it can be removed from the panel without taking off the wiring whne repairing. I think! The guitar pedal builders also have a range of 9v connectors that makes it easier to assemble the pedal in a loom.

I guess in an application where you want to insert it from behind the panel it's useful. Off the top of my head I'm not sure why that might be.
