You think? I think he appears like he could care less, he is judt making polite conversation. Which makes it just sooo hot. Actually this shows us, that SHE wants to spend time with him, he is not pushing her at all, it is her osn free will and we all get that.

The interaction felt natural and innocent I thought Gillian Anderson came across as a woman of high morals and beliefs but she killed it for me when I found out otherwise

s1 had some of the best mulder-scully moments. also scully's red suit is amazing.

Ya see it shows that she actively chooses to follow him. She has many moments where she has her agency to say no and do what she wants. But at times she may have moments where she wants to rebel e.g. never again. But ultimately she wants to be with him and go on the adventure. And i love how mulder is attached but isn't trying to hold her there. He doesn't want her to go but she can leave if she wants. And he'll miss her but veil it under his sarcasm and self deprecation. But when he does this it's mulder speak for i'm vulnerable to you so i'll pretend i'm not. DD plays these beats so well. Also on a side note i love how they kinda show you the bureaucratic process in the early seasons. Establishing that even though we don't always see these things and they will eventually be phased out as we tighten up the show. We are trying to show you a honest view of a government checks and balances. That there is a mundane process to all the excitement and adventure. That here mulder is seen signing for one of their many rental cars, that especially in S1 we see mulder and scully interact with other departments, attend meetings, buy lunch, research their cases, surveil their targets, fix the freakin car when it poltergeists them into the road etc. That the show tries to establish a realistic view of the FBI. It feels real and in the early 90's you didn't see that at all. Of course now every second show has the FBI and the flack jackets but the only screen view i can think of at this point was 'silence of the lambs' with showing you how the bureau operates. Like it was early 90's but there was something so unique and cinematic about how the x-files looked. It felt and still does feel like a movie every week. I love it.

In Season 1 they were not even trying to sell us the "platonic" bs: Mulder is not even trying to hide his jealousy and Scully reacts to it. It's almost like the reversal of friendship to lovers. They knew they were in love when they first paired up, but then fell into friendship and acted on that for the next decade.

I always loved the interaction between them.

How can one man be SOOOO gorgeous? Mulder can. 💜

Gosh! I loooove season 1! Specially the first episodes ❤. When I first saw it I did not think he was jealous at all. I thought he was asking about the guy in a very uninterested way. Well… I was 10 in 1993 😂. Now I see all the nuances in David’s interpretation . ❤

I miss this series so much.

Yea, I think the whole plan after CC discovered he hit gold with their chemistry was to give us the s l o w burn. As GA once said a simple touch, a smile, or a hug gave us what usually takes a sex scene does in other shows. They did it well because we were there every week waiting for another "sign".

He was meant to be droll and bland. Mulder was the one who intrigued her and held her interest on what she would experience with him. He tried though, thought he'd get himself some babe and have a ready made family with her but Danes had other plans with that guy who always kept her guessing.

That poor beast woman though might’ve been a kidnap victim, we’ll never know, because she was murdered by overzealous police brutality, leaving her orphaned child to starve in the wilderness. Scully, you heartless biatch making jokes about her. 👊😂😂

So after the end of Season One, Chris Carter decided to put their relationship platonic, because here it wasn't since they were trying to know each other. I love the x files but i have to say, despite the episodes plots, this should never go past the end of the second Season.

I love me some early-seasons Scully. Later seasons she kinda gets too weepy imo.
