A note about the rabbit reference. In the original, Mulan used the rabbits as an example of 'How can one tell the females and males apart when they run side by side. In referencing this, Mulan said "I think one was a male and one was a female." I.e, missed the entire point of the quote they were referencing.

The entire Kung Fu Panda trilogy is a better Mulan remake.

My dude Kung Fu Panda 3 is like a 7/10 and that’s fine enough because it FEELS like it’s a Kung Fu Panda movie. It may be a little more kiddish and joke filled, but it still has good jokes, good action choreography, good music and animation, emotional beats that FEEL like a damn good movie. It’s a good sequel and a movie on its own. Mulan 2020 is terrible by itself, a bad retelling of the ballad of Mulan, and A REAL SHIT remake of the original cartoon film.

I cannot express how much hatred boils in my body whenever I THINK about this movie. It’s terrible writing and pacing, God-awful editing, shit music, legitimately bad acting, everything about makes me boil as much Trevor does with Toy Story 4. But there’s one more thing. In the credits, Disney thanks the Xinjiang Uighur autonomous region for using their land for their shots in the battlefield scenes. THOSE SHOTS and scenes are right next to the Uighur detention camps, where MUSLIMS ARE STERILIZED AND FACE HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSE. THEY ARE DEALING WITH ACTUAL GENOCIDE OVER THERE. Not only that, but the actress for the Mulan in this movie, Liu Yifei, expressed sympathy and support to the Hong Kong police. You know? The fellas under the Chinese government who are actively fighting to take away the city citizen’s rights? This movie is not only a giant middle finger to the excellence that is the Mulan 1998 film, but it stars a woman who supports the tearing away of voting and basic lawful rights and is made by a company that gave “special thanks,” to a genocidal camp region. Fuck off.

Funny as well that they waited till 1/3rd of there army got killed by the Chinese defence before whipping out the Trebuchet. Granted, those weapons are primarily for siege battles, but it would have helped forced there enemy to make the move into THEIR arrows instead of the other way around.

I don't know how to pronounce or spell the bad guys' name in this movie, so I just call them "Morons."

Chi! I had a really dumb idea: imagine TS5 is a multiverse story, and the bad guy is the hun guy nobody remembers his name. His motivation is that nobody remembers him, so enters other universes to mess things up so everyone will remember him. But there’s an on going joke that dispite messing the multiverse, nobody STILL doesn’t know his name. But hey, that’s just a story, a story IDEA.

I'm late to this party and only partway through the video, but I have a question, and since I haven't seen this movie I don't know if they answered it. Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but the trip to the training camp seemed to imply that Mulan was lost and needed to find her way there. Why does she need help? I would assume the training camp would be easy to find and indeed people would probably be able to give directions. Why does Mulan need a mystical bird to tell her how to get somewhere that would logically be heavily signposted? It seems like a bad plan to send people to get recruits and then not provide a map or something so the newbies could find their way there. You won't have an army if you do that. I find myself wondering if there are 10,000 raw recruits lost in the Chinese wilderness who still haven't found their way to the war. Or is it one of the evil sorceress' powers to keep everyone else's pheonixes from giving them directions and that's how she keeps the Chinese army numbers down?

This is my father's favorite movie 😄 BTW, when can I expect the Lightyear video?

FNAF lore being "confusing" is better than Disney remakes being dissapointing, lifeless, and just borderline insulting to Disney Fans, the Disney Brand and the entire world. If you remove any amount of content, even the smallest amount and especially the highest possible amount, from the original film and your adaptation is longer than the original, you'd better do something uniquely great. If you don't, your new film is not only pointless, you actively insult the original with your new piece of garbage. You know what, I want to retcon the entire Live-Action films to be that they're effectively corruptions of Disney classics purposefully commissioned (forcefully, of course, with the promise of some easy money) by an entity either similar to or just straight up the Mother entity from Oblitus Casa, and that after I realize that the entities are slowly corrupting reality I pull each of the directors aside in an effort to get them to band together to win a bet that I made with the entities. Either we can salvage all of these bad movies and form a paranormal research team to learn how to fight each of the entities, or the entire Disney fandom and the company, and therefore the entire world and hence every single character in the world will become a corrupted version of itself and swallow the entire planet Earth and humanity, along with every single other creature on Earth. High stakes, and I'm merely starting at *a* root cause just to *try* to minimize the looming threat of the entities. But first things first, every Disney animated film must be corrupted first to start this entire thing. 37:59 She's got Fawful's Minion's skill in a can. "That's right, folks, skill in a can. Would you guys believe me if I told you that there was not a single Chinese person on the creative team for this movie? This movie was directed, written, produced, and edited by white people. There was not a single Chinese person working on this movie because if there was, this movie would have been gutted and redone from scratch because of how awfully they butcher Chinese lore and culture. Granted the original movie is not exempt from this criticism since the original only had one Chinese person on the team. But for a movie that tried to market itself as a more culturally accurate version of Mulan, it’s laughable how horribly they failed considering they did a WORSE job than the original.

I still think the Lion King 2019 remake is worse than the Mulan remake. But here’s the thing, at least this movie doesn’t shove a ball of shit in our faces (literally a beetle rolling a ball of crap) and at least it doesn’t shoves the writers barely disguised fetish (the fart jokes but they are worse) in our faces like the Lion king 2019 did.

The worst disney remake to me is the Pinocchio remake.

I think Toy Story 4 is way worse. At least Mulan is a remake people can ignore, while TS4 is a sequel that is a canon continuation of the first three, that's what makes it so terrible.

You know what's the sad part the fact that they could've done something interesting with actually being genuinely closer to the original culture and poem,maybe they could've leaned into either the wacky or the mystical style some asian movies use (although I think that's mostly done by *Japanese* films so correct me if the Chinese don't it as much) which I kinda feel they tried to do but they did in the most surface level possible,not to mention inaccurate (that's a western phoenix!!!!!) But no they had to do the most soulless,boring,god awful remake. One that doesn't even commit to the changes they kept bragging about. Why will you brag about the songs not being there when every once in a while My Reflection plays in the soundtrack and people spill out the lyrics in dialogue form anyway,and you removed the dragon but sure let's give Mulan a god damn pokémon (THAT DOESN'T EVEN FOLLOW THE WAY ASIAN CULTURES SEE THE PHOENIX)
