im not 100% sure about the june to july thing BUT if the translation is abit off then my guess it's cuz on the seventh month in the lunar calendar (not accurate every year) is the hungry ghost month so regarding the water because its kinda like taboo or what my mum likes to call as pantang that you go play in the water during that month because spirits can drag you underwater. as for the women thing, its cuz women are commonly known to have very strong yin energy which is what attracts ghosts/are ghosts themselves. its mostly beliefs so it may or may not be true haha
