Mudakathan Rasam - Herbal home remedy for joint pain | Rasam without Rasam powder

This simple delicious rasam is quick and easy to put together, if you stumble upon mudakathan (balloon vines) keerai.
As my mother in law mentioned, this keerai got its name from relieving joint pains. Its a very good herbal home remedy.
Recipe -
To grind
1. Mudakathan keerai - min 10 leaves (more will make the rasam bitter)
2. curry leaves - 2 strands
3. tomato - 1
4. cumin seeds - 1 tsp
5. Black pepper seeds - 1 tsp
In a pot add tamarind pulp, few tomato pieces and salt. Bring it to boil. When the raw smell is gone, add in the ground paste and add more water. Once it starts to boil, switch off.
In a kadai, melt ghee, add mustard seeds and curry leaves. Add the tempering to the Rasam and it's ready to be enjoyed
