(I originally uploaded this last year; but KZread took it down. I apologise to all the people who wrote comments on the original video. KZread terminated my account two weeks after Yauch passed. I promise to upload all the Beastie videos I had on my original channel for y'all.)

i saw this lineup in the Gorge '94...Beastie Boys fucking were so fucking good the poor Smashing Pumpkins had to follow them & it was like the entire crowd had blown their load...A lot of people started to leave...I remember Corgan saying something like " I know u want the Beastie boys but the aren't coming back"...or something to the effect that he knew they weren't gonna capture the fucking Tsunami of energy that just blew threw the amphitheater
I went to this tour in Columbus, Ohio. I was homeless and got a ride to a friend's house at the Ohio State Campus. I slept on the porch until everyone woke up. I went with everybody at the house to the concert. I paid for my ticket in quarters and got third row in the pavilion. Everyone left me there. I ran into some guys I knew from Cincinnati who let me go down there with them for a couple of days and then gave me a bus ticket back up north. When I got back 'home' I got a job and found a basement to stay in. Memories...............
Beastie Boys one of best live bands ever RIP MCA
"The Real World" happened and people ate it up. MTV then realized it was much cheaper to produce their own show than it was to deal with the music industry. Here we are today.
Back when my TV stayed on MTV
I still remember the first MTV commercial, Week in Rock, Lollapalooza commercial, wow nostalgia! I also went to LALLAPALOOZA in Los Angeles. Had an awesome time watching the Beastie Boys, Smashing Pumpkins, and many more! It was a great time to be a teen in the 90's! BEST PART! NO CELL PHONES, Social media, Twitter, Facebook, you were forced to meet people. NOT bury your face in a phone. I used to record these MTV specials but lost all my VHS tapes!
mtv used to have a lot of things. now they have nothing. they are nothing.
Oh, post-insanity Billy. We miss you.
Fucking awesome seeing two "celebrities" just being normal and not being extra
R.I.P. Adam Yauch
i was on dead tour and saw this in the Gorge...the 90's were great
lol juicers back then had no idea how popular they'd be now. So humble of them.
man MCA was cool. I realized tho Billy Corgan must be at least 6 ' 2 cuz I been next to Yauch before had a chat with him in NYC years back. and he wasnt that short a guy maybe 5;9 or 5 10

Back when MTV was about real music!! Loved the 90's music :)
Ha, that was great. I cant believe they used to have all that stuff on MTV though
" communicate long distance, by COMPUTER 🖥️" 🤣
Wow I just watched a few Lollapalooza 94 vids and it's obvious gen X was the the true greatest generation.

Indeed. I was 14 years old when I first went to my first Palooza in 93’. I went on to go to all of the rest of them in the 90’s. I went with my friends and had some great times. Took lots of photos but no videos sadly. We were more in the moment rather than worried about uploading to social media. Lol.
I was at the Sunday show in Auguist in Dallas.
for everything!
Damn I was so spoiled to grow up in the 90s, best of everything. Peak of pop culture imo.
Yeah I feel sorry for the 00s generation. Being a teen in the 90s was amazing on every level and I feel blessed to have been born at the right time.
This just makes me feel fucking old.
I miss seeing the B-boys live
My man yauch was Kurt Loaded amirite
Little does he know, Billy will eat those words he throws back at Adam as Adam gives deference to Parliament Funkadelic.
That was indeed quite the awkward interview. I have to agree that the 90s were awesome.
crazy
Damn, too bad MTV is shit now.
"Hi mom!" 😂
Billy corgan threw a hissy fit here in Houston on that tour by walking off the stage. I guess I don't blame him since people were chucking bottles at him
For a moment I thought the first 30 seconds was just a commercial before the video and I got so fucking excited till I found out it was the actual video and there was no adds. A bit disappointed now.
Billy Corgan and Adam Yauch.....hahahahahaha
I won't even say I was born in the wrong generation. I love being my age now, but DAMN I wish we had stuff like this now. Not just the music, but the music television and the whole attitude. Being a teen in the early 00's sucked because we were left in the 90's dust. Total cocktease. Or a rocktease, rather.
RIP MCA
'Having a real good time with people.' Ha ha ha
That was so akward.
...let's you talk long distance via a computer...
I remember this tour. I hated it from the first time I heard of it. The only reason I went was because after graduation (I was class of '94) the girl I had been lusting over the entire 3 years of high school asked me to go with her even though she knew I hated most of the bands. I asked her why she wanted me to go and she said "We'll be alone for almost a week and I'm fixing to go to basic training and you off to college. Think about it, why do you think I want you to go". Good week :)

How ya doin, now?
A couple of years prior they probably would have just hung out doing a hit of acid after the show, but MCA trying to do this awkward interview with Billy (surprisingly) fumbling words is kind of amusing, considering his rep for having a big ego. If you read the Beastie Boys books, he was the smartest guy in the group and a little bit eccentric, so you do see him toying with Corgan a bit...but also that pressure of putting on a good show spinning around in his head.

Billy seems a little intimidated or off guard with MCA. Probably afraid of him clowning him accidentally or on purpose
So true, what happened?
From 3:45 onward, it's like watching a nail try to interview a shoelace.
3:45
Billy Corgan with hair actually reminds me of Nicky Wire from the Manics! I love the funkier Beastie Boy stuff, Adam totally seems here like he doesn't want to be interviewed, keeps looking away, is Billy really that bad?

From some other interviews and the contents of their book, it seems like the Beastie Boys didn't really like Corgan. DJ Hurricane definitely didn't and has plainly said it, not sure how MCA felt.

@balohna where did you get that from the book? I read it a couple months ago. They talk about how Billy stuffed Ricky Powell in a bball game, never said a negative word about Billy.

You can tell they're not on the same wavelength. He ignores Adam giving respect to Parliament, jokes that police being fake is too taboo. Can tell they come from way different backgrounds I think
why would someone want that?
5:03 what does billy say?

+Brandon Kellner Thank you.
Love that MCA is toying with Billy, cos Billy himself is a pain to interview
Billy was trying so hard and all his interviews went so badly.
who the fuck thought it would be a good idea to give Billy Corgan the job to interview anyone/ Love the guy but wow...
Nine inch nails
Adam was so cute! Billy..not so much
Kind of an awkward interview.
Beasties are all that is fresh, cool, hilarious, and fearless. Billy Corgan is like an insecure high school cheerleader desperately seeking validation. LOL!!!

at least he tried to have charisma for the camera, unlike yauch, who kinda came off as a turd in the interview.

Nah he was takin the piss out of yauch and being condescending. It was nerdy art student meets skater frat guy. Not a good mix.

how did corgan need to seek validation? he single-handedly wrote some of the best albums of the 90s lol he didnt need to prove anything to anyone
