Being middle eastern and in high school at the time I recorded this because I am a huge beastie fan. I remember the feeling of solidarity I felt as a young teen. MCA was far ahead of his time and truly beautiful human being. So much gratitude 💛

Ian McIntosh We’ll never know man but I would like to think that Chuck D knows how far The Beastie Boys pushed an former underground movement to a wider audience that bands like Public Enemy couldn’t have done, not because of their musical talent, but because Hip Hop crews like P.E were too hardcore and militant and not as accessible to a white audience, and Chuck D knows and respects this. Dude was an activist at heart and wanted a better world... Admittedly I can't help but wonder if some power somewhere did him in. Not only did he speak out against the cabal here at home, dude took on the Chinese communist party as well with his Tibetan involvement. Much love and respect... His legacy will never fade!
