    what an awesome pod of people! at 18:39 Cassius uses Mental Misstep on Flusterstorm. That only counters the flusterstorm itself, but not the storm trigger. Storm is a cast trigger, and flusterstorm has been cast. there is still allllllll the copies of flusterstorm that Joe M controls. fierce wouldve been countered and LED would resolve...

    Yep! Storm is op. Also when will Cassius ever show the key cards he's using from his infinite mana combo. You should still be able to articulate and pull out the key cards to illustrate your win to completion.

    Yep, I was here looking for the same comment. Cash had no mana, and there were two spells cast before Flusterstorm, so the storm count would have = 3. However, Joe also played it wrong and did not pick his targets for the copies.

    Cassius' deck is so overtuned compared to the other players. Maybe Joe's deck is up there but Gabriel is out here cracking a terramorphic expanse for a basic forest and playing an island for turn. Cassius is hitting a grim monolith into a jeweled lotus and playing teferi untapping and taking an extra turn ON TURN 2. Bro. Bring a more equally powered deck to actually make the game fun for your friends.

    Watch Cassius play is hilarious because he has the cards, he has the internet to look up a cedh deck, he brings it to a table thats not even close to power level. Then Spends half the episode searching off a turn 2 tutor, then misplays a flusterstorm counter, then really has no idea how his combo works. The fact the host of show said something and still didn’t catch the fluster storm is crazy.

    Let's be honest with ourselves. When we all see a new TTJ episode we all get excited! Joe brings the energy, and a fun aspect to the game every single episode. That is the reason we all ask for more!! But when an episode with Cassius comes out, we all groan in pain and agony. 10-20 minute turns, $40K decks, and turn 3-4 win combos every single time he plays... Even the players look bored out of their minds watching him play solitaire for an hour. Doesn't understand the combos in the deck either. "Rule 0" with his cEDH deck he won tourneys in..

  • @xxxzeroxxx8406

    @xxxzeroxxx8406

    It's painful and almost pointless to watch even if they all agree to the rule 0. Its just not as entertaining to see ONE player become the threat just because they are playing a stronger deck than the rest. It would be way more entertaining to see him actually play something in line with the others. It's not even a personality thing, I am just tired of seeing the low variety in decks that he plays, too.

    Cash did a really bad job of explaining the Teferi-Chain Veil combo. Since Teferi's untap ability is a minus, Teferi will eventually die. Cash needs to generate enough mana to recast Teferi when this happens. Additionally, when Teferi is recast, all of the Chain Veil activations still apply to the 'new instance' of Teferi. He can use those additional activations to draw cards with Teferi's plus ability.

  • @braingasm1348

    Nah he said he does the plus so it doesn't. That's how he draws

  • @jlyxxy8

    @jlyxxy8

    7 ай бұрын

    He can't continue the loop if he ever does the plus on his original Teferi. He needs to do the minus in order to untap the Chain Veil so that he can continue to activate the Teferi. 1 Chain Veil activation = 1 Teferi activation, so if he ever uses the plus on the original Teferi, he won't have the capability to untap the Chain Veil and continue the combo. He needs the additional activations on a recast Teferi to ever activate the plus ability.

  • @ltmaid

    @ltmaid

    7 ай бұрын

    @@michaelchavis9770 key taps to untap, it's net zero in this loop. It also costs mana so even using it to untap vault doesn't improve the situation. He can untap the veil one time sure so he can plus one time extra but it's not necessary. He does have the combo but it was explained poorly. He has to net mana with the veil + teferi, minus until Teferi leaves, and it has to be enough mana to recast him including enough left over to pay for the commander tax. Every minus untaps veil, vault, crypt, and either island or sol ring. so (7 colourless), or (5 colourless + 1 Blue) minus 4 for the veil. If you can recast teferi once, you can loop forever since the new teferi can activate more times since chain veil adds activations for new planeswalkers counting every time the veil was activated this turn. Each activation is either +3 or +2 mana, and new teferi costs 8, so if he minuses at least 4 times before leaving the first time, he can loop forever with the additional veil stacks + recasts. Every extra veil stack can be used to plus teferi, netting more mana and more cards he is netting enough that each new teferi's commander tax is paid plus extra. It is infinite, since you can plus teferi with an empty deck, so he should be able to trivially win assuming he has a win condition in his deck somewhere.

    Rule 0 means nothing if you aren't actually on the same power level. Rule 0 is about the fun/joy of the game. If you guys aren't enjoying getting dumpstered then we aren't either watching it. I should have turned it off when Joe said turn 5-7 and Cass said ehh idk about that. I get it, with turn 5 decks and a god hand, you can probably win turn three but that same thing shouldn't happen in the same way when you run it back. Have him play a powered down deck or have everyone build a deck on his power level. We shouldn't have to hear that he slow played it to "have mercy" on everyone either. Love the content Joe, I just want to see it ALL. I wanna see all the decks do SOMETHING. Appreciate the second game so we could see moar!

Gabriel just loves magic and hanging with the homies. He don't care that other people are popping off way hard. Joe loves his tribe and his commander. He wants to do Dragon things with his friends. Joe just wants to be a good host, because I've played enough with him to know that his Mishra will put in work, but it's not nearly as degenerate as his Blanka deck.

    There’s 2 types of competitive players. People who knows what they are doing and Cassius… son you gotta play faster if you’re going to play combo… if you were my friend I’ll be in your case 30 seconds tutors 60 sec turns…. And go through the combos because once you make a mechanical error you lose the game.. Back in my days the beauty of sequences combo came from knowing your deck… if you were playing against decks that could compete against Teferi I doubt you’ll win this easy. P.S you did not resolve the flutter storm correctly either…. Worst than playing against a combo deck is to play against a player who doesn’t now how their cards works… 😅

    Great game, he had the kill with just terror and squee cause the squee will just keep coming in and dealing damage everytime he casts it to get his mana.

    And Joe should have had the win a turn earlier. He could have sacrificed his elemental tokens after attacking to cast Squee from the graveyard to kick off the combo. Tokens have 0 CMC so each would be worth 1 mana.

    Also the office idea is great on camera. Maybe it would feel less cramped to you if you take out that little side table/ credenza and move the desk all the way to the other side of the room.

    Squee doesn't go to the graveyard from Food Chain, he goes to exile, then he can be cast from there. Also, Food Chain can supply "infinite mana" this way, but that mana can only be used to cast creature spells. Just small corrections.

  • @archmagemechanic1

    @archmagemechanic1

    Additionally, doesn't Food Chain create mana of one color? So it'd make 4 mana of one color which has to be red to keep recasting Squee...so he's got infinite red mana. So how does Joe play Tiamat? Am I missing some detail?

  • @JR-ti5jm

    @JR-ti5jm

    7 ай бұрын

    @@archmagemechanic1 you make an additional mana each time. So you can get 'infinite' red and then use that to continue and get 'infinite' of any other colors as well. But it's only for casting creatures. You could use a creature like Ramos, Dragon Engine in this deck to filter that mana into other uses though.

    My Dragon deck's Commander is Ur, and I hope to pull "Magus of the Moat" and "Dragonlord's Servant", with those out I don't need to pull Ur till I NEED to. Chromatic like crazy, Tiamat is in there, so is Terror and Wrathful Red Which basically ends the game. I purchased Game Night and pulled Lathliss from it for the deck, made a proxy for the game.
