Mt. TIBROGARGAN | GoPro Hero 7 & DJI Mavic Pro

Спорт

Mt. Tibrogargan, a rugged hill situated about an hour north of Brisbane in the Glasshouse Mountain Range, is a climb more so than a hike. The seven of us who attempted the climb are of varying ages, fitness levels and climbing abilities, but with some care and some determination we were able to scramble our way up the rocky path displayed in the video.
After arriving at the car park you will traverse a number of rocky switchbacks that lead you to the start of the cliff face scramble. There is approximately 15 minutes (maybe 30m) of particularly difficult, risky climbing at the beginning of the scramble (portrayed in the video), but once you get past "chicken rock" (aptly named as it turns away the fainter of heart) the climb gets a bit more straight forward. It is not a walk in the park as it is still quite risky the whole way up, but the hand and footholds become more obvious and frequent the further you climb. With a number of stops along the way (drone flying, waiting for friends etc.) we were able to make it to the 260m summit in 90 minutes. The descent was even more swift than that, but we didn't check the time. All in all, you could probably be up and down within 90 minutes if you had a clear run. Enjoy and take care!

Sweeeeeeet! Do you by chance recommend any good LUTS for editing in post production? I just got the DJI Mavic Pro 2 & I'm excited to see how the video turns out! I'm trying to find some great LUTS for the drone footage. 😀

G'day mate, I'm not too big on LUTs as I quite like the automatic settings and if I need to adjust the shot I do it manually in post. What I am looking at getting is some ND filters which I think would've helped in this video on a bright sunny day. I'm looking at getting these ones. amzn.to/2GQ9los

What was the descent like? My partner’s done Tibro before and wants me to do it but I’m not sure.

Natalie Lagerroth, I found the descent easier. You can pretty much go all the way down on your butt (it brings your centre of gravity down and closer to the cliff face for better balance). Take your time and be careful and you should be fine.

Butt slide is easy, just go during the day. Typically the stories of people getting hurt are from descending in the dark

@@easepeaseify can confirm! Climbing down after nightfall in the rain is not fun. The climb is a little tough, it's much more than your average bushwalk, but as long as you've got appropriate shoes (eg. Tight runners) and some stamina it should be okay
