Apocalypto is even more awesome when you know that many priestly-ruling classes in meso-america could predict some eclipses. I think the implication in that movie is that it is showing a theocracy sacrificing to the sun god with the knowledge of an upcoming eclipse that most of the people have no idea about. That it was timed to coincide with a celestial event....it's awesome and like James Earl Jones said in Conan, that is power!

One of the best damn times i ever had singing karaoke was at a dive bar deep in Alabama. Plastered cigarette ladies of unknown age, Grandpa passed out on the bar next to a 22 year old deadbeat who lives in the attached motel.. You know the type. 4 black guys sporting full gang colors (crisp red t-shirts, bandanas in the pocket, the works) walk in and the whole place goes quiet.. Within 2 hours we were all shooting pool, buying eachother drinks, and singing David Allen Coe. One of the songs has a line that goes "..workin' like a n****r.." We all sang it, there was about a half a second pause and everyone kinda glanced around at eachother, before busting out laughing and going on like nothing had ever happened.

I took a few biological anthropology courses at a fancy school. Skin color is made of 16 genes, hair texture and color of 1 each, and eye color is made of 1. Because we all started out as black Africans and because white European skin is the most complex/recessive, obviously visible phenotype we associate with our stupid and wrong conception called "race", the super light skin we associate with white people took the longest to develop in response to very cold climates with low sunlight after populations left Africa. The genetics of who would become the white Europeans became (slightly) distinct 40,000 years ago in a European population which had black skin, blond hair, and blue eyes. This was the population which migrated into Europe, and who began to adapt to the cold/dark climate by developing light skin/hair which could better absorb vitamin D and eyes which could see better in the dark. In addition, these populations increasingly became taller and more massive to deal with the cold - with slightly shorter fingers/toes, smaller ears/noses, and short/powerful limbs to improve circulation and reduce risk of frost bite. Any animal that exists in different temperatures conforms to Bergman's Rule and Allen's rule: Colder phenotypes have shorter appendages and larger body mass. Europeans and Asians developed flatter faces from having a more VIOLENT CULTURE - people with long jutting facial structures like some Africans (called Prothagmatism), if punched or clubbed in the face, are very prone to severe infections from facial fractures, and may die. Paler people who migrated into warmer / sunnier climates would slowly begin to adapt back to features we associate with black Africans - over exposure to sunlight without dark skin strips pregnant women of folic acid and easily causes a miscarriage (evolution doesn't care about skin cancer). Body mass would decrease and limbs / bodily projects would become longer to give more bodily surface area which can dissipate heat and stay cool in a hot environment. Inuits are a fun example as well, because they live in an equally cold environment. They have the exact same body portions (height to arm-span ratio) a Scandinavian, but have darker eyes/skin because sunlight reflected off of snow/ice exposes them to more UV radiation.

@@dustinrisinger1958 Well I typed you about twice as many paragraphs as the OP but youtube couldn't handle it. TL;DR IQ (a measure of only *abstract* intelligence) is NOT "fake" or "made up" like leftists always say, but it is cultural and not genetic, Americans in the 1930's tested with as low of an IQ as rural tribal populations on certain continents often accused of having a "low IQ" i.e. around 70.... abstract intelligence is only useful to modern post-industrial people, and these "low-IQ" tribals also have super powers like an insane capacity for memorization, encylopedic knowledge of their complete environment, and the ability to give unlimited effort / lack of "first world depression". I recommended the movie "God Grew Tired of Us" about a social experiment with Sudanese tribal refugees being loaned a plane ticket and then followed as they brutally try to live in the USA without public assistance - expected to even pay for their own travel expenses with interest. They work 90 hours a week @ minimum wage while going to night school and learn to read and write, then get a diploma, then an advanced degree. In 10-20 years they are wealthy community leaders who were able to help save their home tribe from genocide.

@@arloeikerson3009its both and I'm talking from a perfectly sane objective position. Its biological cause its geneticly passed but it also depends on enviroment and culture. If a low IQ tribe lived in a harsh enviroment in a culture where everyone has sameish IQ there wouldn't be some big diviations generation to generation BUT if suddenly some of them moved and for 3 generations lived in first world countries their IQ would shoot up. Did you get the difference?

It hurts me knowing Shane is never going to be as unrestrained and funny as he was in these old pre-SNL cancellation podcasts. He was just so relaxed and off-the-cuff. He's still funny now but not even a fraction of what he used to be like, now he always checks himself to make sure the joke isnt going "too far".
