    I’m in the same boat. I’ve heard nothing of vapor chambers or extra fans. Regular heat sinks and 2 fans seems like they will need to spoil up a lot to cool it. Asus is using conductonaut and 3 fans with a vapor chamber. Even the gigabyte 17x is using 3 fans and a vapor chamber.

    For those who have the 12UHS-063, it's only true superiority is in that extra heat pipe and a few more CUDA CORES. However, they kept it in the same price range. The real advance in that there is a GPU made on the 4nm scale, which means higher performance at a lower TDP; this is very promising, and when combined with the extra cooling capacity, it means more computing power without changing the shell, frame or weight. Now that's progress. Now, if MSI offered a buyback/upgrade program, this would be a no-brain er. When someone asks, "Then what do they do with the 3080 Ti laptops that come in?" Easy; they make sure they're functional, and put them into a fresh plastic shell, which is then sold again as REFURBISHED for 75% of original detail. NO E-WASTE, and a great deal for someone willing to be two generations behind the curve. Someone who can get into one of these is willing to invest in the new one as they come out to be as bleeding edge as they can be-especially when added productivity means getting your projects encoded or transocded faster. Render times mean greater turnaround, which means more profitable. Gamers will have access to the DLSS 3, which I hope the gatekeepers at NVIDIA release later on. Remember that the coding for drivers can make a HUGE difference in how well a GPU performs. DirectX13 will prove that. Those who play Flight Simulator 2020, the fans feel and sound exactly like an a320NEO! On a purely aesthetic note; the 12UHS-063 is ALL BLACK, so when you have the lighting completely off, it's very discreet. That red strip on the new one is a deal-breaker for me. WHEN, oh WHEN will MSI get the message that those who can spend $6,500.00 for this machine, and add quad 990 PRO NVME Drives, DO NOT WANT RGB, RED STRIPES and all the other crap that screams "STEAL ME, and bash me over the head for my laptop, please!" You're putting people's lives at risk, unless they never venture outside with their laptop.

  • @ViciousXUSMC

    @ViciousXUSMC

    That is really common these days, because the most common thing to use is a headset that uses a combo jack. So for most people it would actually be worse to have the older style split (and it takes up more space) But! You are absolutely fine you can just get a 3.5mm TRRS to TRS break out cable and split it out yourself. Also most streamers these days seem to be using USB microphones, or USB audio interfaces.

  • @PlayGameToday

    @@ViciousXUSMC I hate adapters and splitters, as well as combo jacks - they are a source of interference and signal degradation. I'm a streamer, but I use a Marshall XLR condenser microphone - what's wrong with me? I hate USB microphones.

    @ViciousXUSMC

    Жыл бұрын

    @@PlayGameToday I use a Shure SM7B with a Cloud Lifter to a Behringer X18, but at the end of the day my mixer is connected via USB. From actual electrical testing, a good splitter is not going to hurt your signal, nor is it large enough to pick up any EMI or other interference. (Same argument already won in RCA vs XLR for very high end audio pre-out setups) If your at this "level" of needs as far as performance, I can't see using any built in 3.5mm audio connection. Your arguing for quality and how adapters hurt the quality, and usb microphones are not good enough quality, then. Want to use built in sound cards on a laptop and expect quality? Those are in some of the highest interference and noise scenarios possible due to the close quarters with all the hardware. You should be looking at an audio interface if quality is what you demand. How exactly are you using your Marshall to a 3.5mm connection? IMO professional opinion you want a good digital interface with a clean pre-amp for anything serious. There is no way I would be using 3.5mm for my XLR microphone and having it go thru more analog conversion than necessary.

    @@GenTechPC Thanks a lot! Sorry for my English, I'm from Spain. OK, and then, at the same price and same specs, I think that this model it's better tan Asus G18? From Gentech, wich model it's better? I always had MSI, from GT72 with a spectacular GTX 1070, and love the MSI BIOS. Only one thing, it's noticeable that MSI Ge78 don't have GSync? Tanks 👏👏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

    I thought the Titan was the higher model. Why does that one have a 4080 and this one the 4090?
