Thank you so much for giving FSKneeboard a "test ride" under "real (sim) world" conditions :-D It was a pleasure to watch your video and see my mod being used and put to good use by someone who seems to be genuinely enjoying it!!! Awesome, thank you so much! By the way: I noticed that you always deleted waypoints and create a new one to edit your flightplan. Did you know that you can, alternatively, drag and drop individual waypoints with your mouse, instead? You can even insert waypoints between existing ones by clicking the magenta track line :-) And, finally, make sure to also check out the two available nav overlays that you can enable from the maps selection: The integrated open flightmaps layer is pretty amazing when flying in western Europe!

Popham! I used to be in a Thruster microlight syndicate based there. Also had a test flight in a Shadow microlight based at Chilbolton. Very informative as usual. Just need the hardware now.

It seems you can't go anywhere these days without being spotted haha. That made me chuckle (you caught me getting a bacon butty)😋😄 Great video, I must check this out, also that aircraft is my kind of thing. I bet she is a joy to fly in VR. This is intriguing. Because I use my MSFS 2020 setup to practice IFR along with cross-country flights, one of the first things I missed in VR was having my Foreflight running on my iPad next to me. This might be a pretty simple solution. Thanks!

I might be a bit late... ;-) ... Thanks for your great work and this great channel! Is so nice to watch and listen your relaxed voice, paired with fantastic expertise.

Very nice review as always Mark. I would only add few features important for me that you did not mention: 1. Player can turn plane icon completely off. For me a great part of fun in bush fying is navigation only by map without "GPS" so I greatly welcome this option. This feature is missing in eg. EFB, NeoPad and other similar tools. 2. There is an option to use hotkey to show/hide FSKneeboard - very handy in VR. I can map it to button or to voice command of Voice Attack. 3. Red tone filter for the map is great for night flying.

@@williambomball5965 You have to run FSKneeboard with parameter --hotkey 1 (see installation notes) that allows you to show/hide FSKneeboard with ALT + F. Then you can create VA command sending ALT + F to active window, i.e. MSFS.

@@robertmcginnis8365 FSKneeboard after SU5 do not have the icon in the toolbar, only blank square :-) But if you click it, it runs well. To enable hotkey, make .bat file with the commands like this: ------------------------------------------------------------- e: cd "e:\MSFS-Tools\FSKneeboard PRO\" fskneeboard.exe --winstorefs --hotkey 1 ------------------------------------------------------------- (of course, the drive and/or path to the .exe would be in your case different) If you want to run MSFS, run this bat file instead. It fires MSFS AND FSKneeboard with ALT+ F hotkey activated. For more options see the install instructions of the author.

@@robertmcginnis8365 Hey Robert! Chris here, the author of FSKneeboard. Chances are that you either haven't installed the ingame panel properly to your community folder. I have also seen quite a few users who missed hitting the TAB key to bring up the toolbar in VR and then click the FSKneeboard icon to bring up the panel. In order for the hotkey to work, you first have to bring up the panel manually. Then, going forward from there, the hotkey will work! When I start a flight and look at FSKneeboard, my plane icon on the map is often not where I am. How do I reset the map plane icon to match where my plane actually is, usually at an airport I want to take off from. Is there a way to do this?

Is this SU5? How do you get those graphics in vr? My graphics in vr after su5 is blurry and the scenery looks washed out and are to bright. Your graphics looks amazing.

Hi William! Chris, the author of FSKneeboard here. As Mark pointed out, FSKneeboard can be undocked from MSFS and then be moved to another monitor. You can also just use your browser and visit localhost:9000 and work your way from there :-) An external device does not work for the time being. I know why and I know how to fix it. I just need to find the time to do it :-) If you like, go ahead and join me and an active community of other FSKneeboard users on Discord at discord.fskneeboard.com and I'll keep you posted.

HI Mark,,,,great videos mate..i downloaded the kneeboard app and have the connection to internet happening ok and staying in background,,but i dont have the map system app on the internal MSFS board ?? confused I have tried several reloads to no avail,,can you help mate ???

Hi John, sounds like your not automatically connecting to the fskneeboard server. Check out the documentation that came with the program it explains a solution to this. Alternatively contact Chris the developer for help directly, he normally responds very quickly and can provide advice etc. If no luck let me know and I will contact the dev.

The grass is to long. They have to cut it :) This Map is a very nice tool. How to approach a airfield (charts /circuit of the aerodrome ) is important. PS: In real life, if the weather is nice and you are flying with a small airplane, you will have termals. The flight can then be very bumpy :) Has the MS Flightsimulator this (passengers dont like that :)? And can you have during landing heavy cross wind with gusts? Wizzard Rincewind (sorry for my english :)

Hey John! Chris here, the author of FSKneeboard! Great question!!! Mark already pointed out that the map covers the entire world. In addition to the different "main" map modes, there are even two navigation overlays. openAIP which covers the open world and open flightmaps which is perfect when flying in western Europe! Do you see the ingame panel? Do you see the icon of the ingame panel? Do you have the community folder right? :-)

Difficult choice, for airliners I go for SimEFB, GA - FSKneeboard. I use the latter more often.
