But for South Africa they have lost best bowlers and batsman’s and all rounders by now. Just becoz they won d home series against India doest mean dey are great team. Scored a 50 in wc final 2007, 48 in wc 2011, scored 4 hundreds in a row in 2015 wc and one of best test batsman. Dhoni scored 91 winning wc 2011, scored a fifity in semifinal 2015, scored a fifty 2019 semifinal. Only captain to hav winning champions trophy wt20 and World Cup . And has 50 avg in odi after 350 plus matches.Dhoni and sangakara are finishers in d game and has gt better records Dan gilchrist.

Sangakara capatanciny was also superb reaching t20 final 2009 and 2011 wc final . But His ipl capataincy flopped.dhoni was good batsman in odi bt nt in test. But his odi avg amazing with 50 avg after 350 matches. Sangakara and dhoni are situvational players dan gilchrist.

When he's not keeping wicket, Sangakkara has played 74 Tests, scored 28 centuries, and 8,034 runs at an average of 69.86 That means at No.7 position as a wicketkeeper-batsman ( avg: 47 SR:81) Gilchrist is still the greatest of all time. Sangakara is the greatest batsman who once was a wicket-keeper.

Still I would not call sanga A competitor to sachin. In terms of skill Sachin was definitely the best of the era but Sanga is incomparable with any so called best keeper batsmen in the world, including MSD.

In tests Snagakkara surely. In odi they all are extraordinary. In t20i MSD surely as Gilchrist played only a few t20 matches.

Sangakkara also captain of SL team. He always played as main batsman for Team. His record in ODI, TEST, T20 are unbelievable. Gilchrist and Dhoni played well..but not main batsman in Team.
Gilly is the best, played 3 world cups and won all 3. Australia were number one in tests during his time winning 16 consecutive tests twice. In 2004 he was the captain for India tour for 3 tests and they conquered final frontier. Besides all these heroics his keeping was outstanding.

There should be qualifications and long term ability to bat at opening and one down.. there was no such quality in MS dhoni.. and he was good at below 6 th number.. But sanga is main competitors of sachin Tendulkar in that era and sangkara debut after sachin Tendulkar has played for 9 to 10 year already but sangkara debut afterwords but still super performance in all areas of cricket.. even he was best captain.. constant and consistent performer.. Taking responsibility at opening needs ability and that confidance.. that was shown by dhoni but he was not eligible.. i am also fan of dhoni but i like to see cricket as game and give fair view and fairy respect and accept the truth..

Gilchrist is best because he scored 50+ in every world cup final he played. In 1999, 2003 and in 2007 also. The one who performs in most important situation is best.

But at that time SL openers bat for 30 overs if you are a top order or low order you will not get a chance to bat againts small teams to score runs (thranga& dilshan)

@@sonupathak3257 Sanga is a good run scorer and he can handle the situation that's why he is 1 or 3. But dhoni can't take that responsibility and score like him. That's why he is 5 or 6. He is a finisher. Not a big score. That's not sanga's fault 😅. If doni can bat on 1 or 3 why they're put him in 5/6. If he better than sang they should let him bat in 1/3. But he didn't. That's why no need talk about batting potisiton. If you are good batsman you can bat 1/3 uper order. If you're middle range batsman you are bat in 5/6.

Cuz Sri Lanka relied mostly on sanga,Jayawardene and Dilshan for decades. But in India there were bountiful options in the top order , gradually dhoni went down the order and scored less runs. Dhoni didn't want personal runs and records he just wanted team India to be at the top of the table and he did it.
Dhoni is not a batsman he is a finisher that's why he scored less runs❤️

if he was opener and had to face new ball , mind you . new ball swings a lot and Dhoni's technique was not so good that he could play new ball in oversea condition. Gilchrist deserves credit for being an opener , and we all know , playing with a kukaburra ball in australia , it always swings first 15 overs.

@@akshaykathirvelu6574 in asia , opening is easy . ball doesn't swing much. and ball is hard , so it flies . when you open in Australia , england or RSA, a new dukes ball or a kukkaburra , it swings a lot . cricket dynamics changes place to place . Dhoni has been good player at no3 , but only in indian conditions.

Gilchrist batted at no 7 in test matches...you have considered as an opener here...he was an opener in odi .. justin Langer & Matthew Hayden used to open for Australia in test matches

If we compare their total career sanga definitely the best batsman..but one thing to notice here that sanga didn't play as wicket keeper in his total test career like dhoni or gilly..he infact mostly played as a specialist batsman in tests...as wicket keeper batsmam sanga played only 48 tests scored 3117 runs with an average 40...so putting sanga's total runs for this comparison is unfair to the others.

Among these cricketers, sangakkara is the best cricketer. Ineed He is a cricketer who contributed to make sri lanka proud in whole world. he had lots of talents more than other two. Such as batting average, winning percentage, scored centuries and half centuries, highest score as well. As we are sri lankan, we do thank to him for the service that he had done.

bro , in an era where normal strike rate was 70 ! gilly used to hit at strike of 96 and that too in ODI , with infatuation , today it is like an opening batter with 125 strike rate ! Sanga was not a keeper when he started to play big in last 3-4 years of his international cricket . Dinesh Chandimal, Prasanna Jayawardene ,used to be keeprs . Gilly and MSD have played all their life as keeper ! Dhoni used to bat at number 3 or 5 so Dhoni is good . he never got many balls to face but Gilly was an opener, that means he had to face new ball , which swings a lot , so opening is also not that easy . they are all legends in their own right
