MR2 Spyder TRD Front Strut Brace

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

It is time to add another bit of bracing to the MR2 Spyder. The forums all state that the Spyder really likes having a Front Strut Brace added. I found that the TRD strut brace is still available from Toyota parts dealers and I found it at a great price.
Easy install and it really does help the front feel planted.

Hello Mr. Stark, Interested in the front cross-member, but want to know if I can put the junk bank in the frunk? as in spare well, spare tire, and trim? Please advise. Mr. P

@@LSmiata You definitely could still have the spare tire container installed with the strut support. In order to have the cover installed though you would need to cut the cover to make space for the strut bar. I hope that makes sense.

Is it especially for LHD? I though the TRD strut bar was just for RHD, but your one fits very well!

Hi, I just got mine in as well but unfortunately the box came damaged and opened.. no damages to the bar just missing paper work. Did yours come with any instruction from trd or something like that?

Can you still have the plastic cover in the front even with the brace on ?

Alexandre Archambault yes, but you need to trim it to fit around the front strut brace. You can also retain the tool bin cover opening wth the brace installed by splitting it just past the brace and adding a piano hinge. These mods take much longer than installing the brace.

Yes but you have to cut some holes in it for the bar to go through and you can't use the cover over the spare tire.

    What's the strut for? Stability?

  • @StarkReality

Yes. Under turning the strut towers can flex. In the MR2 Spyder it actually flexes a lot. So the brace ties the two together and keeps the car nice and flat.
