The ship burning in the beginning of the fillm was actual footage of the SS Morro Castle in 1934 of Long Beach island. The captain had died the night before and the Chief Officer was in command. The ship lost power quickly and the ship drifted ashore off Asbury Park. The fire burned for 2 days. 135 of 549 passengers and crew members were lost. Ship design and crew deficiencies added to the disaster.

A ship like the Titanic was supposed to be Unsinkable and elegant fillled with a lot of rich people and the people most drowned within a matter of hours. The people on that ship were stuck aboard the ship and for two days while that ship burned and nobody wants to think of people being burned alive they can deal with somebody drowning or freezing to death within hours then being burned to death within a two-day period of time.

The Mr Moto movies are fun as well. In a few, Number One Son Jimmy Chan shows up when Mr Moto is a guest lecturer and he "helps" Mr Moto as much as he helps his Father LOL. All these movies were great!! I watched with my Dad. Even the old Dick Tracy Movies-Boris Karlof played a bad guy then and was ah-maze-ing!!!!! He never got the credit he deserved for his acting!! From bad guy, to Mr Wong, to The Grinch, and everyone in between!!! He was a very underrated actor!!

Not one person has commented on the prominent filming error that starts around 19:30 when Wong sits down with one member of the Tong to talk, and in the next clip, that person is suddenly an old man. Not the best editing! Still love these movies.

I was equally surprised, as I came here to make just that comment. it is because they re-used footage of Mr. Wong consulting with the Tong from "Mr. Wong in Chinatown" (or whichever one had the jade smuggling) for the first part, and then cut to the new actor for the new dialogue.

Never made Mr Wong's acquaintance till this week. Now I've seen four Wong films in four days. I'm not even a fan of this type of mystery but Karloff is fun to watch. Also I like the way Marjorie Reynolds plays Bobbie Nolan. But I'm getting tired of Captain Street. I don't think it's Grant Withers's fault, it's more a matter of how the character is written; he's too easy a foil for Mr Wong. Too bad the series apparently never paired Wong with a really smart cop; it would've been a welcome change.
