    I might have heard a story about this. I think Leonard was in costume on his set when he was asked to run over to Carol's set. The memory is so vague I cannot be certain. But it seems right. Why else would he be there for mere seconds, and not otherwise be on the entire episode?

    I love the character Mr. Spock! I have a picture of me back in 1967 when I was 10 years old, with my Vulcan haircut trying my hardest not to smile into the camera! I wanted to be a Vulcan just like Mr. Spock. Intelligent, reliable, and always has your back!

    This skit takes place on Federation colony, Chi Beta Sigma. The visiting Mr. Spock was kind enough to bring the antidote to the wife while the husband gets dressed.

    A few miles away, more like. Desilu was on the corner of the old RKO lot in Culver City, Burnett was filmed at CBS Television City at Beverly and Fairfax.

    First, there was no reason for him to say anything. The gag was him. Second, it's possible that there were contractual obligations that would have prevented him from speaking in costume. Third, it's also possible that he didn't even get paid for the appearance, as it may have been a favor owed to somebody from either the NBC (Star Trek) or CBS (Carol Burnett) studios.

    She is so funny. I got to hang out with her daughters and play around in Carol Burnett's house. I met Carol and she thought I was cute so she gave me a big kiss. She is just as sweet and friendly in person.

    I just saw Leonardo Nimoy on a 1958 episode of "Highway Patrol." He was a teenage hoodlum with a switchblade and Brylcream in his hair. He played an enforcer in a $10 a week protection racket. But Dan Matthews always gets his man.

    Carol Burnett is probably the most loved comedian that graced the tv screen. At 70, I still watch her show on METV and laugh just as hard.

    For those wondering why Nimoy would appear on a show being broadcast in a different studio (Trek was NBC, while Burnett was CBS), it was not unusual for guests to come from different studios. In this case, the two studios were just 20 minutes apart, not including Los Angeles traffic, of course! My guess is that somebody on the Burnett show knew somebody on the Trek show, and the rest is history!

    This was on Season 1, Episode 12 of the "Carol Burnett Show." *Aired* Dec. 04, 1967. That was AIRED *about* the time the Star Trek episode "Patterns of Force" was being FILMED.

    Stark Trek was only going to last one season if it weren't for Lucille Ball. Her studio almost canceled the show, but she saw the potential of the show and it lasted for two more seasons! So Trekies should not only be grateful for Gene's beautiful creations but for Lucy keeping it on the air.

Lucy got to the second season and then it was going to be cancelled by the network. The save Star Trek letter-writing campaign got it a third season. Thank you very much for correcting me

    James Doohan was one of the dads in the Mid Valley YMCA 'Indian Guides' group of which I was a member. I have slides around here somewhere of him (and the rest of us) in full ersatz 'Indian' regalia.

    I like that they could have easily gone with a Dr. Spock joke involving the baby but instead said naw her husband is invisible and also Spock for some reason.
