Obviously another director was involved in the production of this episode. Gotta give credit though, it almost managed to pull out the "classic Mr. Frog show" aesthetics. It even remains one of my favorite episodes out of the entire show. Proof that The Mr. Frog Show is worth watching after its golden era (seasons 4-17).

I wouldn’t say 4-17 is the golden era, I mean sure season 8 is amazing and you cannot do wrong with season 12, but all the others are “meh”. The Bug Harumph arc felt really forced, we didn’t need a multi-season-spanning slow burn. I think that there wasn’t a golden *era,* but just these spots of gold scattered around.

This might be nostalgia talking, but I was always into season 3. Where it found its footing and when there was still a lot of room for character development between Mr. Frog and the Bug. I loved the 6 long Las Vegas episodes, but the apartment episodes had their charm.

Look, I can see the appeal of the Mr. Frog show beach season and I totally get why a Mr. Frogger would love it and that's fine, but to say that it's the BEST of the Mr. Frog show or the PEAK of the Mr. Frog show is ABSOLUTELY FOOLISH.

Idk dude. After this season, I feel like they ran out of interesting ideas that meshed well with Mr Frog's character evolution at that point in the story. "Mr Frog in space" or "Mr Frog at Burning Man™" all felt really tacky and pandering. That's why shows shouldn't go above 36 seasons or so, cause I feel that's the point when you tend to lose the spark that made the show great in the first place, y'know.

If we can be honest here, ever since the whole ordeal with Mr. Frog and him being temporarily replaced, you can see that he has a new sort of energy about him. It's basically the sort of energy from season 4-17 where he was in his groove and wasn't just falling into the sort of character stereotype that we all took him for. And he fit into his role far better than the early three seasons for sure. I can't wait to see what else Mr. Frog has in store for us. 10/10 Eat the bug every time.

As a fan of the Mr Frog show since 1963 I was a huge fan of this episode when it aired. While it was seen as a filler beach episode to most, I saw it for what it was as it gave us some more insight into the characters of not only Mr Frog but Bug as well. It also foreshadowed the fan favorite beach season, so that's a win in my book.

actually Mr. Frog debuted in 1962, 2 months before February of 1963 when it "officially" debuted. It was made using a small set piece in a burbank parking lot with a sizeable workshop out of the back of a van driven by 3 guys calling themselves the "Shmuckleheads" iirc. incredible to know where Mr. Frog got his start, just some guy on the street willing to do some down on their luck guys a solid. Real props to him, the bug was actually his friend from college he got in on the show as well, theyve done the whole bit before that day but only in front of small crowds at frat parties. Impressive to say the least, they were just asked to do something they thought would be cool and out of roughly 7 different groups of people they were said to be the most appealing and hilarious thing anyones ever seen. Really tho, Mr. Frog and Bug deserve a lot of credit but they wouldnt be anywhere without those 3 shmuckleheads and im glad their names are still in the credits to this day.

It takes real talent to keep a show so fresh, SNL has seen it's ups and downs but Mr. Frog I feel has such a relatable almost intimate relationship with the viewer it keeps the show from jumping the shark. In contrast to other long running hits like LOST or Oz Mr. Frog provides not only that cozy family entertainment but it inspires and remains a driving force in the global zeitgeist to this day. Whenever I reminisce about Mr. Frog I am reminded of ep. 487 sn. 8 when Mr. Frog ate the bug and told us he loves us, it's writing like that, that sparks a fire in some people and motivates them with boundless ambition, thank you Mr. Frog you truely an inspiration.

We now know that in addition to sitting on rocks, he also likes to sit on beach chairs and go snorkeling. He even wears the snorkel outside of the water, as if its a comfort device to him. I believe they're subtly alluding to his dad's gruesome death, as he was hit repeatedly with multiple trucks, right after giving his son a snorkel. The lore in this show is just so cool, I can't believe they pack so much into a mere 10 second run time.

yeah, i know beach episodes are usually just cheap filler, but somehow the writers and actors here managed to make it work. bravo, mr. frog and company.

If I can at least make an unironic comment. I think this is brilliant. Because of the joke of Mr Frog having so many episodes, this will allow many fans and would be animators to pitch in to show support while also helping them hone thier craft. Zach and Michael are gonna shock the world.

I don’t know why everyone has to argue about what their favorite seasons are. It’s so pointless trying to find out what the best season is (19 btw) and we just have better things to do in our lives right now

Nice of them to change the setting every once in a while. Reminds me of when Mr. Frog ate the bug at the North Pole in the Christmas special. Kinda forgot which one, to be honest.

I’ll admit that the dialogue this season has had a lot more fluidity and soul to it. I hardly know how to word it myself but I think the actors themselves just understand their roles so much better.

This has to be one of my favourite mr Frog episodes because even after the 1-4 season golden age it still pulls of the classic mr Frog and we have to give all of the new producers and writers credit for all this hard work they are doing.

The only problem here, is that Mr. Frog didn't bring his iconic hammer to the beach and terrorizer the beach goers like he did in season 3. Overall good episode 9/10.

While definitely not as impactful or memorable as some of the other seasons, the tropical beach season will always have a special place in my heart. Glad that Kraft Punk was a VFX engineer, he really knows how to capture a scenery and make you feel like your there with Mr Frog

KRAFT PUNK's work as a VFX engineer doesn't get enough credit. He blew up as a musician on the Eric Andre Show but his work on the Mr Frog Show was just as impressive if not better.
