    I loved this video. Thanks so much for doing this. These are the base models/brands that most people are trying to decide between at your local store or online. I also like that you don't have only fancy expensive coffee makers. Most videos I have found of 'best coffeemaker' only include one inexpensive option. I think this is great for the average at home coffee drinker that just needs a new coffee maker. Thanks again!

    Thanks for watching and your kind words!!! That was so nice of you to take the time and leave such a nice comment. Your kind words really do mean so much!!! I am so glad it helped and this is the reason I do my Videos To Help Others!!!! I was just talking with my wife over supper tonight how I think the majority of coffee drinkers are just people that buy a coffee maker under $50 bucks and really enjoy their coffee. Thanks for the feedback and I am happy to review the $20 dollar MR coffee from walmart. I think they sell a lot of them.

    GREAT JOB!! My Cuisinart is 14 years old as of December 14th and I ordered the Cuisinart in this video since the 1-4 button is giving out mine. I did see the individual video you did on the Cuisinart and I found it VERY informative. It was one reason I placed the order for the new one. Thank you a lot!!

    Hey, Just a Dad, your obsession with coffee makers amuses the heck out of me. The only thing I care about is how hot they make the coffee. By the time I put it in the cold cup with my non-dairy creamer, it drops about twenty degrees. And it's cool within ten minutes and I have to stick it in the microwave. Thanks!

    Thanks for the review. I'm on my third Bunn. After about three years they all started leaking from the bottom and it went from making 10 cups to 7-8 so in other words it's a leak releated to the actual heated ready holding tank not the top tube many believe is the culprit. It could be due to hard water as I do not have a softener. Sadly it still looks like I have to buy another Bunn because my wife and I are big coffee drinkers and have become used to Bunn making it the fastest. Don't think I could ever go back to a standard autodrip unless they find a way to make it very close in brewing speed to the Bunn.

    I have had this Cuisinart for years. I use it to make 16 oz of coffee every morning. And it’s good. The full pot is good also but I rarely need that. So I bought a Keurig K Supreme Plus for convenience and admittedly just for something new. I returned it within a few days because I just couldn’t get a cup of coffee that I liked. So for now I’m sticking with my Cuisinart. I enjoy your videos but they are always tempting me to try a new coffee maker. Lol.

    Which one would Clog up from Hard Water the Least??? And last the longest??? Love this Video, Thank you for sharing your Opinions 😊

  • @JustADad

    @JustADad

    3 жыл бұрын

    Great Question. So all of them except the BUNN would clog the least amount from hard water. They all have about the same heating element except for the bunn. see my bunn video. kzread.info/dash/bejne/fmin1qWnYq2dY6w.html See this video for what the others look like on inside and you will see they are almost the same on the inside. kzread.info/dash/bejne/oqSgx6uLk7GsesY.html As far as which one would last the longest. the Top 3 are Mr Coffee, Cuisinart, Braun in that order. From What I see online is the Hamilton beach is the least reliable. and the Black and Decker just felt the cheapest made. A BUNN coffee maker will last you a long time if you descale on a regular basis, but if you have really hard water it might not last the longest. It's hard to beat the mr Coffee but with the Cuisinart you get more features, but it cost almost 3 times as much. If cost is a factor then MR Coffee, If space is a factor then Mr Coffee, If you want more features, then Cuisinart. Cuisinart gives you a brew done beep and you can turn it off, it also has a clean light to let you know when it's time to decale and it has a automatic descale / clean function, Very easy to change water filter, and I think cone filters brew just a little better. Thanks for Watching and hope this helps.

    Am I the only one who strictly uses filtered/distilled water for appliances? I have a Brita pitcher I specifically use for coffee makers, an electric kettle and my cats' water fountain. If the water is not to be consumed, I use steam distilled. I personally would never use tap water in appliances. Especially with the Bunn, unfiltered tap water seems like a really poor decision. It would spend it's whole life evaporating water and concentrating the impurities... No wonder that old tank looks like it's full of cornflakes! I just bought a Bunn with little knowledge regarding them and began second guessing my choice when I read 'Always on internal tank'. Power consumption was my biggest concern but internet sources say it doesn't even use $1 a week. Still, your videos helped me understand the machine very well, thank you!

    You made a great choice, The bunn coffee makers are very good. I made a video on one that is very close to the elite. kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZJaElruzoKeum5s.html they have a little more prep work because they have an internal water tank that you have to fill up with water and it keeps the water hot all the time so you have to keep the switch in the back on all the time. but remember to turn that switch off if you go on vacation or will not be using the coffee maker more than a week. I just like the looks of a Cuisinart. It's stylish on my counter and brews a great cup of coffee. I love the backlit display and that the entire buttons (on some models) have a lit ring around them when selected. The only downside (and it's minor to me) is that the lids could get out of the way a bit more when pouring into the reservoir and the reservoir opening could be a little wider. So, if you are a shaky pourer or very short and have trouble really seeing into the top, you may want to avoid the Cuisinart. But they are so nice looking on your counter, you'll miss it if you ever switch to another brand. And that massive 14 cup carafe?! It will spoil you and all others will look inadequate in comparison :) One thing you overlooked (or I missed) was the cleaning cycle. Cuisinart is just fill the carafe with 2/3 water and 1/3 vinegar and hold the cleaning button, then wait. Could not be simpler, and it's quite speedy compared to some others that I've had to deal with.

With a reusable filter you get a little bit of sediment in the coffee that adds in my opinion to the smoothness. best bank for your money is the mr Coffee 12 cup fast brew, its only 25 bucks and taste great. you don't have to leave the bunn on all the time, you can operate it like all other automatic shutoff coffee makers. i timed my cheapy wally mainstays, it takes 18-20 minutes to finish a brew, the bunn will take 15 minutes to get the water up to the 195-205 temp then 4 minutes to finish the brew, of course if you want it fast, yes you need to leave it on, just depends on how you want to do it. also, the cheaper coffee makers takes a while to get to the right temp 195-205, so i.e., most cheaper makers will dispense the water before it gets to the right temp making the coffee grinds not getting the right temp water the whole time while brewing where as the bunn and techni is the right temp throughout the whole brew process. that is the difference in just the temp part of the brewing process. i also checked the temp in my wally main stay, it didn't get to 195 deg until the 14-15 minute mark, then it finally stayed stable between 195-200 til 18 min mark, which the process was finished at that point so 4-5mins brewing at the last few minutes at 195-200 range, no wonder it doesn't taste as good as a bunn or techni or other better brewers, it also didn't bloom whatsoever, and the sprayer head is a small head that dumps in one area, the grounds don't get completely saturated until 5-8 minutes in. lol.

    Wow you have done some great research and great details. Thanks for sharing what you know and have found out. This will help me and others that see this. My Bunn seems like if I turn it off then it takes about 20 to 30 min to warm up the water in the holding tank to the correct temp, then you can do a brew. I have been liking the Moccamaster a lot more lately.

    thanks for your response, with the novels i wrote i figured you might not respond. lol. sorry for the novels but i tried to keep it as short as possible, too many details. i'm trying to "zero in" on exactly which model to buy for my needs. the #1 reason is for taste. after i tried a commercial series bunn back in april of this year at a restaurant, i was immediately hooked, with that being said, i'm not sure if the smaller mostly plastic home bunn models will taste quite as good as the commercial one so i'm not completely sure if it will generate the same taste as the one i tried. i would love to get that techni because of all the positive reviews for the #1 taste over all other brands but that price for a 10 cup maker is too pricey for me, if i am gonna spend $300 on a unit, i might as well buy the commercial home model from bunn, it is 12 cup capacity, all stainless steel with the option of buying the steel shower head replacement along with the steel filter basket, which would make the whole unit 100% all stainless steel. as far as price goes, just trying to see if a cheaper model of whatever brand (cheaper than $300) would have the same taste and performance as the commercial bunn or the techni, that's where you come in, you are trying to help me so i appreciate that. thank you. one other thing, all of the better models of whatever brand are too tall for my counter space, i only have 13.5" at the most, need something at least 13" down, otherwise, i will have to place the coffee maker on one side of the stove, which is the only place left, hence, that is why i was looking into the bonita model, but after viewing some of the videos on the negatives of it, it made me skeptical, so back to zero, but i haven't ruled it out yet, taste is number one reason for me, so if bonita can recreate that with a smaller unit, i might get it after all, it's around $100, still leaning towards it. this is my journey. thanks for all your help.

    These are pour through coffeemakers, not percolator coffeemakers. Percolator coffeemakers refilter/rebrew some of the brewed coffee. Whereas pour through coffeemakers only fresh hot water pours through the coffee grounds once. Bunn is good if you brew one pot or more each day. Correct me if I am wrong, but none of the controls/features of the coffeemakers add to the taste of the brewed coffee, well other than the cone vs basket filter shape. And even then I would question whether that added or detracted from the brewed coffee taste. Nice video!

    @@JustADad I was just writing another reply and mentioning the Bonavita. My folks and I were used to BUNN, but didn't really like the water tank (we had been through 2 or 3 BUNN models over about 15 years), so went with Bonavita. It has a powerful heater, so doesn't need a water tank. Finishes a pot in about 5-6 minutes. Cheaper than Technivorm but similar process. After using BUNN and Bonavita it was hard to go back to a coffee maker that takes 12-15 minutes. I still think BUNN brews a tad hotter because the water is already at the right temp, but the water temp I get from the Bonavita is within SCAA range.
