I just bought this I’m excited to start using it.

Dropping the Pro Feature Set and just selling a cable was a great move. I still think the cable could be cheaper, but I won't complain too much about a $200 discount and a faster device with more storage. Should be buying one soon!

I bought mpvi2 just for logging. Had to realize that many European cars can not even read the standardized OBD PID, which can be any 2 € mobile adapter. Has this finally been improved?

Where can i find compatibility vehicle specs (OBD Protocol) with MPVI3?

I have a flex fuel vehicle. Can i read the ethanol content from the app?

Do I need a laptop to use hp tuners? Can I just load tunes via the device and phone app?

I know it tunes a Gm Ls but does it tune 03' Ford 2v's?

I will be upgrading from my MPVI2 to MPVI3 in December. I held off on the 2+ because I was waiting for the next gen. Will credits carry over since I assume they're account based. I never really dug that far into the credit system other then just buying some when I needed them.

Question My MPVI+ has blue tooth but it will not log using it. I can pair the device with my computer, but the program does not recognize it. I was told this is a defect in the MPVI+ has this problem been resolved in the new 3?

I've never had that particular one, but I've a ton of other errors, listed below. You just have to keep trying and see what happens. If all fails, contact HP. No you would need an LS car to use anything HP Tuners otherwise you will need to do the TorqHead 24x conversion to use HP tuners ….. Anything 1998 and newer works ….

I'm having trouble using my mpvi3. Just got it in the mail. Uploaded the latest software, but there is no mpvi3 in the drop-down menu under the help tab.

Ok, sounds cool, but how can we get one? I already placed an order in a reseller here in Canada on August 1st, I have no ETA so far, and on HP Tuner's web site and it says that it's already sold out, cannot buy directly! Any news on when we can get one and how? Thanks!

When you say "faster data logging" what does that mean? Increased frequency of data points?

The improvements in speed does vary depending on the vehicle/controller. But in general, we are referring to the ability to log more channels at faster data rates!

@@HPTuners is there currently a way to add custom PIDs? If I could log stuff like brake pressure, steering wheel angle, etc. that would be great. My mustang (TC-298) has the ability to log those, and I’d be willing to buy credits just for more logging PIDs. Wasn’t planning on getting a mpvi3 but if more track oriented solutions might be coming, I’ll just have to.

So I’m trying to register my mpvi3 and I dont see the mpvi3 verification code listed on the “help” drop menu on the vcm editor. The only ones listed are mpvi and mpvi2. This is my first hpt, i never owned the mpvi or mpvi2 versions. I do have windows 11 if that helps so my understanding no drivers update necessary. Any suggestions?

The HP dongle is USB C, then you connect to the laptop via any USB port, including C.

It's in there, and I turn them off, but it usually doesn't work for me and I get a CEL anyway.

So "advanced" that it has issues freezing up during a log record unlike the mpvi2....

Mine, V2, only locks up if the USB connection is broken. Which sucks because it not only locks up, but you lose the recording. Lots of important data lost forever over this. The problem is it's very difficult to keep the connection when driving, as the USB connection was not meant for this sort of thing and it won't take long before you it gets glitchy. Changing the cable is no big deal, but when the port in the laptop gets glitchy, well, I only have so many USB ports on a laptop. When those ports get worn they not only cause problems with HP, but anything I connect, so HP basically kills the laptop. Based on current experience, one laptop a year and a new USB cable every three months? I'd simply solder the laptop connections to the cable, but the cable life is too short. The wires in the cable break, even if they have a strain relief. You could try Bluetooth, but for me that's a guaranteed fail. Good luck!

😂 the mpvi3 don’t work with TDN app in iOS 16.0.2 devices. Confirmed with HPtuner Customer service department. A blue/gray paperweight in my storage box after they refuse refund because the device work in PC. 😂😂😂😂

my new mpvi3 was a total ripoff.. thanks hp tuners, i just wasted $550 and cant tune my car.. no help from support either.

the most fluff video explaining nothing important, we just need to know that it will shoot the pistons through the hood

So $10 thumb drives and almost everything has more than 8gb of memory. Not too sure if that is a good selling point. The rest of it as others said, means nothing. What am I getting for $500 plus over say the 1k terminator and other options? Those do the same thing but have more included and for novices they have a lot of good defaults and examples. For data logging I use a $20 osb reader from Amazon and a $20 app. Logs data to my phone via blue tooth and have 256 gb of storage plus unlimited cloud saves. I just don't see the value for your every day person. Professional tuner trying to tune with stock ecm maybe?

Blah blah.... reload all the tunes back that was in the repository.... you have destroyed the repository which definitely helps everyone new to tuning

Unfortunately we did remove all modified files from the repository. The files that are in the repository should only be used for comparison purposes and you should not license or flash those files to your vehicle.
