@@petertaylor2148 I mean not anymore did u see one of his ko’s in glory after the punches switched southpaw and threw a head kick. And you don’t always have to combo your kicks it’s more of a preference right lol.

Simon won because this was Scored likea a Pro Muay Thai fight, not a dutch kickboxing or amateur Muay thai fight.

3rd Eye how does a 29/28 fight show a deep lead? Marcus should have been miles ahead, fighting Muay Thai rules against a karate style kick-boxer should have been relatively easy.

Age 20.... with a record of 81-9. Wow!! dudes not even legal drinking age in the states and almost has 100 fights

how did the commentators go with Vakhitov? lol he was more active in round 1 but he was getting shut down in rounds 2 and 3, especially in the clinch.

Well, during the fight, Mauro states that Artem is 20 years old. So, he's 27 now making this fight 7 years old. Plus, a brief wikipedia shows that it did indeed occur in 2011. As well as another previous fight between the two one year prior, which Simon took the win on as well except via split. I dabble in and out of kickboxing, even though I really enjoy it, so I wasn't even aware that these two fought way back. Vakhitov is like my favorite kickboxer right now.

I had it round 1 artem round 2 marcus and round 3 could have gone either way

First round went to Vakhitov but Marcus took the last two. That commentator obviously didn’t know how to score Mauy Thai.

You cannot over power an opponent that is more physically powerful than you, therefor you can’t face that person head on but only at angles and orthogonal to them. Vakhitov did so much better at putting together combinations and even delivering kicks with greater accuracy. All Simon could do was clinch and move forward, to which Vakhitov made the mistake of staying in the clinch with him and moving forward too, towards Simon as opposed to working angles and shucking him off in the clinch. Being tough is a setback for most fighters. Vakhitov could take damage so he allowed himself to and lost. Technique used without proper tactic and strategy is ineffective in the end result.

It's not muay thai without uninterrupted clinching

Artem did a real damage, he was more precise. Marcus just peppered with punches, Artem's defense. Artem would have won under any rules.

Back of the head cheap shots is a looser unsportsmanlike

Tried some fancy moves that never worked out (looked silly really), took a lot of knee punishment & generally looked sloppy in the ring. 2nd beating at the hands of Marcus & this time Unanimous decision. Not Artem finest moment.
