MP&ES Unveils the Santa Fe
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
On June 9, 2012, in Greenville, SC, MP&ES unveiled a pair of F7 A units painted for the Galveston Railroad Museum in Texas. Hurricane Ike in September 2008 damaged the previous Texas Limited Nos 100 and 200 that had to be scrapped in June 2011. The new "Santa Fe" pair are numbered 315 and 316.
The pair began as Southern Pacific 6443 and Texas & New Orleans 365, but were sold to Wellsville, Addison & Galeton in Pennsylvania in 1969. The units traded several hands over the next decades until they were donated to the Railroad Museum of New England in 2001. The Railroad Museum of New England sold the pair to the Galveston Railroad Museum ten years later.

Beautiful engines, they were always my favorites since I was a very young child. I used to see these F units in the “New Haven” livery paint scheme. My admiration and respect to all of them! God bless America!
What a pair of beauties, whoever designed the paint job must a genius. it must be the most famous colour scheme in the world on millions of toys and models Greetings from UK

For me it’s the SD75M’s, these were Santa Fe’s last ever new diesels bought before the 1995 BN-SF merger. And they were a nice closing chapter to one of Americas most iconic railroads. What started with E-Units, ended with modern SD75M’s with Warbonnet paint, both from EMD. Santa Fe will never be forgotten. I was able to cab ride with ATSF 250 (the roads last ever new diesel) when she was only a few weeks old, the crew let me fire her up also, and it was a unforgettable experience.

To this day, this is one of my favorite restorations but, I wish they made the ditch-lights imbedded in the locomotive. Like what NS did with their F-Units.
@nikerailfanningttm9046
2 жыл бұрын
that would look rather stupid though, the ditch lights on the former NS units were so close to each other, when they flashed...they looked like....a stripper flashing
@FFred-us9tw

@@nikerailfanningttm9046 Those recessed lights on those units were awful. The worst thing you can do when having to put something on a locomotive that historically doesn't belong is to try and do it in a modern way.
I come back to this video every year or so, just to watch in awe of such beautiful engines. The design is timeless.
Great looking machines.
Arguably I spose, the best paint scheme ever to grace a beautiful engine. Warbonnet. Unmistakable.

And that’s a fact
I just read that an ex-SP 'F7A' (ex-'6378') of circa-1952 vintage still existed (but no longer in the old "BW" SP livery) in a disused run-down state back in 2011, owned by 'preservationists': this engine was one of a couple of engines (supported by 'B' units) used to haul the trains that book-ended the action in the movie "Bad Day At Black Rock" back in 1954: let's hope it's still around in 2019 and can be brought back to life.

Wow...GORGEOUS!!!!
The most iconic locomotive So many trainsets in the 70s and '80s had this as their locomotive I didn't like it I much preferred the Green Burlington Northern or the Yellow and Blue Santa Fe, but that was because of the style They were GP35 Or GP40, I think The blue and yellow was a great paint scheme So was the green BN I also love the Blue and White D&H, but I don't think they ever sold sets with the D&H There is a Montana Rail that uses blue, and they are also a goof paint scheme, but I really like the D&H, BN and Santa Fe Yellow and Blue GP series
This would have been amazing to see in person. Absolutely stunning locos
