Mozart - Requiem Mass (Dies irae, Rex tremendae, and Lacrimosa) - English and Latin lyrics

Музыка

Parts of the Requiem Mass (D minor.)
This rendition is from the movie Amadeus. It differs from the classic Marriner rendition, by way of additional drums from the acoustic section towards the end. - Thanks to @Yağmur Umay Karaca for that interesting tidbit!
Mozart's ebullient Symphony No. 39, among the last to be composed. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s final masterpiece was commissioned in mid 1791 by the Austrian count Franz Von Walsegg, as a tribute to the passing of his young wife Anna.
This piece was unfinished at the time of Mozart's death. At the behest of his wife, Constanze Mozart, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's understudy Franz Xaver Süssmayr completed the missing parts.
The Requiem Mass was first performed on January 2, 1793, in a private concert for the benefit of Mozart's grieving wife.
The artwork: The Pietà by Michelangelo. A renaissance sculpture carved in Carrara marble. This famous work of art depicts the body of Jesus on the lap of his mother Mary after the Crucifixion. It balances the Renaissance ideals of classical beauty with naturalism.
The marks of the Crucifixion are limited to very small nail marks and an indication of the wound in Jesus' side, and his face does not reveal signs of the Passion. Michelangelo did not want his version of the Pietà to represent death, but rather to show the “religious vision of abandonment and a serene face of the Son.”
The artist: Sir Neville Marriner, The choir of the Academy Of St. Martin In The Fields

The introduction "Introitus" was cut out due to a copyright claim. Lyric videos and personal translations fall under fair use, but corporate greed needed to take away that one minute. Apologies.

The copyright duration of composed music is the same as for books, paintings and other literary and artistic works: the author's lifetime + 70 years. Therefore, the musical compositions of old masters like Beethoven (1770 - 1827) or Mozart (1756 - 1791) are all in the public domain and you can freely use them.

Stumbled on this on KZread. Did you know Requiem Dies Irae was used as a character for a video fighting game? His name is Wolfang Krauser from Fatal Fury and Dies Irae was playing as his theme music. 7 foot tall German wrestler noble. Awesome design. Fatal Fury was a Japanese made fighting game series yet its creators were worldly enough to create a character in honor of Mozart. Japanese pop culture exposed a lot of us 90s kids to a masterful work of art.

This statue is called “The Lamentation” and was a popular depiction in what would later be Germany at the time and was commissioned to Michelangelo by a wealthy immigrant noble. He had to make Mary very swole to hold the dead body of Christ. It was the sculpture that “put him on the map” as it were. He was either still and apprentice or just coming into his own at the time.
