MOZAMBIQUE: Historic Fortress of Maputo (Fortaleza of Maputo)
City of Maputo, Mozambique - the Portuguese Fort (Fortaleza De Maputo) in Maputo. Let's travel to Mozambique and let's visit Maputo and the Portuguese fort of Maputo (Fortaleza De Maputo) in the city of Maputo, the capital of Mozambique in Eastern Africa. The Portuguese fort of Maputo (Fortaleza De Maputo) was built by the Portuguese in the mid-19th century near the site of an earlier fort. Inside the Portuguese fort of Maputo (Fortaleza De Maputo) is a garden and a small museum with remnants from the era of early Portuguese forays to the area. The sealed, carved wooden coffin of Ngungunhane - final ruler of the famed kingdom of Gaza - is on display in one of the side rooms inside the Portuguese fort of Maputo (Fortaleza De Maputo).
Maputo, capital of East Africa’s Mozambique, is an Indian Ocean port with preserved Portuguese colonial architecture. Many turn-of-the-century buildings are in the downtown jacaranda-lined Baixa neighborhood. The bronze-domed CFM Maputo Railway Station, for example, was completed in 1916. The Baixa also has an expansive Municipal Market. The neoclassical City Hall is in the nearby Praça da Independência square.

No protection was required from the British Vic as Portugal have been allies of the British since 1147 give or take a year or two. Other than that nice video!!
