i know i’m probably late to this party, but still - i haven’t noticed the piece of the infinite mana loop with Gravecrawler and P Altar - Crawler always uses the one black from Altar to recast himself, is there any piece on the board (i probably missed) that makes Crawler cheaper (i.e. Rooftop Storm) or something that adds an additional mana? thanks!

Hi rebel_sk, thanks for the question. His commander Wilhelt is on the board so whenever another Zombie dies, if it didn't have decayed, he creates a 2/2 black Zombie creature token with decayed. This allows him to sac and replay gravecrawler infinatly to P Alter creating infinate zombies, he can then sac any number of those zombies to P Alter gaining infinate mana. Wilhelt, gravecrawler, Phyrexian Alter is the 3 piece combo. Hope that helps!

Are the decks similar power level? Seems a bit weird for one player to play a mox and another to play a 2 mana tapped mana rock?

Haha, great catch, since this was my first episode we didn't do the discussion before the game. Korvold and Wilhelt were cedh and the other two decks were just high power 7ish

You could have saved way more time and just used havengul lich to cast blood artist from guys grave, then sac’d the tokens to alter draining people and gaining life in return..but hey we all zombo different I guess nice game tho 👍🏻

Wait so I'm confused. I run wilhelt with Phyrexian Altar and Gravecrawler. How is there infinite black mana? Would every loop consume one black mana in order to cast GC from the grave? What am I missing lol

Hey Brandobilly, every time he sacs gravecrawler he creates a zombie, he can sac and bring back gravecrawler infinite times creating infinite zombie tokens, then he can sac those tokens creating infinite mana.
