Also, if you do decide to change the color of the chairs, spray paint would be far better than tape sure, it’s harder to reverse, but it would end up being a better finish

Hi Keegan 🙂 Personally, I think you have chosen the best layout for the living area. You should be proud of how great your apartment now looks.

The way you have the furniture set is the most convenient way. But i think the shelves make the room look cluttered, maybe you can replace them with some other piece

​@KeeganActon I would put one shelf instead of two, lighter in color to make it look less cluttered.

I like the to console on the balcony wall.. if you put your bookshelf on the current to wall and move your garbage on the pantry wall.. you could still mount your tv on a swivel arm on the opposite wall so it doesn’t block the window.. I would get rid of the coffee table and get a cute side table or two or a nesting table and push your couch forward a little bit. Then you could get a skinny console to put behind the couch and have more display room.

You picked the perfect layout, Ideally, I would like a floating sofa but that closed off the space too much. Definitely a no to the tv in front of the window. Cant wait for the final reveal!

i think the way you had it originally worked the best aesthetically and its the most functional.

Have you put little felt chair legs protectors under your bar stools so you don’t scratch the flooring? I like how you have the living room furniture situated, it’s ok for people to give you ideas but in the end it’s you that has to live in it x

Or she could put a small rug down, stops the floor from getting scratched and creates organization.

You could try those privacy screens that you can stick to the glass on the windows. This way, you can have the blinds open, letting more light in, and not jeopardize your privacy 😁

Perfect timing, my sister and I are moving in together this month and got the keys just today. This will be a great motivater throughout the next days/weeks 😊

I liked it better the other way (Couch in front of the window) because it makes a room divider and you could put your trash can under your sink, that's what I did and I find it cleaner too at the same time !

Keegan, I had the same thought process as well. But then I later realized that having one shelf on each side of the couch make the TV "not centered," which could be fixed with a swingable TV mount.

i have a swingable tv mount but idk it just looked off to me. i think the idea of it not being perfectly centered drove me insane hahahah idk why

Regarding the trashcan - would prefer it opposite the fridge. Yes you see as soon as you come in (for a few seconds), but on the other hand you would see it constantly while sitting on your couch.

I have the same lights!! I keep them on the red mode because I like the motion sensing but when it's on blue mode I use the timer switches to keep the light staying on and just keep adding 10 mins or however long I think I'll need

IF that was my apartment i would try put the TV stand on the biggest wall and then have the couch in the middle of the room (so that you can have a walkway behind the couch to the patio door)

Suggestion, think once you mount your tv, you should move the TV stand underneath the window so you have a free walk way to the back door.

about the chair legs, make them the same color as the kitchen cabinets! it is a small detail but will make everything go together so well!!

Get rid of the coffee table and get a side table for your couch. All the coffee table does is hold decor and takes up a lot of space.

The two shelves look to clutter 😅 ... one set of shelf on one side and the tree on the other. Maybe the other shelf in your room but its too much for your living room.

I liked the other way around better. then you can put the shelves by your balcony door and move your trash can where the shelves were so there’s more walk space behind the couch.

Not telling you what to do I would sell both of the shelf’s by a side table put it next to the couch and just hang pictures or some decor on the wall it would look much better

Have you tried the sofa underneath the window?

Only a few minutes in so not sure if you tried but what if you flipped the couch and the tv stand? Have the book shelves one on each of the tv stand? And the couch on the shorter wall?

I know you love the shelves but honestly they are looking too big and throw off the balance within the room. If you replaced those with a table you could move the plant over by the pantry cupboard in a nice basket and slide your couch down possibly a bit more towards the window to better center it across from the tv.

Don't you think the lamp and tree should change places. You could read while on the sofa.

Your original setup is good but I think you need to replace the console table/dresser cause it’s so big and takes a lot of space.

Okay hold on. So I wanted to write this comment on 3 other videos lately, but I wasn’t up for the hustle. But I feel like I just NEED to speak on it right now. So I am from Germany and as a german I can not for the life of me understand whyyyyy this one bedroom apartment needs to have a kitchen this gigantic. Like WHAT? Even with the possibility of two people living there, it still doesn’t make sense. Who needs THAT much cabinet space in a kitchen for 1-2 people? Who needs an island with this much counter space? Like I get it, the island functions as a place where you can also sit and eat or do paper work and what not, but still. In comparison to the living room space it’s just so unnecessary big and in my opinion the apartment would be much more versatile with a smaller kitchen.

I can’t believe how absolutely small they’re making apartments anymore. You just have any room to actual do anything their little boxes. You have no place even for a kitchen set in case you had a dinner party. Family over, friends, If you had a family where do the family eat? the bar area, it’s a pretty apartment as putting up to date fixtures and cabinets, countertops but no windows so dark, honestly I would get depressed so dark and no space. layout is very small and awkward.
