    What a lovely looking little bike especially in black. Looks like it has a nice fit and finish.

    Thanks for your comments. It does get some attention from others on the road, especially with the exhaust fitted.

    900mi on my stock 8S so far and my mileage has ranged from 57-60 US mpg or slightly above Suzuki's claims.

    That sounds good. I am using 97 octane fuel but haven't ridden it long enough as yet to get a more constant / average miles per gallon. When I do I will update the video.

    Nice bike! It's on my test ride list, wanna see what it's like compared to the 790/890 Duke which imo is the benchmark for hte mid sized nakeds atm.

    1300mls on my 8S, it's starting to run more freely and I am getting 67mpg during non motorway hooning about. But I don't think that there's much point in revving it out below 4th gear. It's a comfy and capable ride and is really growing on me.

    I have found with mine, the quick shifter is becoming smoother the more miles I am doing on it. I also noticed by pre loading the pedal just before moving it up or down seems to help. 67mph is a good figure. I think I am more around the 58ish range at the moment. No regrets so far with it at all.

    @@lost-again I agree regarding the quick shifter, that's a proper learning curve for me. I was put off a little at first by how rough it could feel. I made the mistake of really winding on the throttle during upshifts (as suggested by others online). Now I know that it's really smooth from 3rd up at moderate revs and throttle openings. Still working on the downshifts!

    I enjoy the moped, but the mirrors looking bad. The Akra exhaust ist in my land not alowed, i think the original looks good and sounds well. I will make changes on motor covers, make it looking more beasty.

    Thanks for your comments. I got the crash protection from an online company called Evotech Performance. They do quite a few other accessories as well for the GSX 8S.

    Is the akra with db killer and cat?

  • @lost-again

    @lost-again

    4 ай бұрын

    Yes that's right. The Db baffle is easy to remove and sounds great at low speeds and at the higher end. Mid range doesn't seem to change much with or without the Db baffle in. Or it could simply be my hearing.

    @finns51 so when you look directly into the exhaust with the baffle in you will, see a sort of small round hole that forms part of an insert. There is a small bolt holding it in. The bolt can be removed, and the baffle / Db slides out. When removed, the exhaust hole looks bigger. I might do a video on that soon.

    Worst mistake Suzuki has made, aside from not updating properly the bikes in years... 1- Heavy, cmon, you have MT07, you're telling me you could not shed 10-20 kilos? 2- Soft suspension poor suspension ( SV650 races better ). 3- Boring engine, same as every one else in the market ( they could have upgraded the V-Twin to 800cc ). 4- Clunky gearbox, pretty harsh Quickshifter. Overall soft suspension, soft brakes ( woody ) and pretty pretty bad quality feeling, i bet it will rust easly.

    1. The engines larger and the suspension is better than the MT-07, so that comparison is moot. 2. As for the track, I don’t disagree, but nobody else has as versatile a bike as the 650 either, so they still have that market cornered. 3. The bike being inline makes it more versatile to go into other platforms and cheaper to produce, it’s just value engineering.

    @@benlaseter7719 I meant the weight compared to the MT07. About suspension yea they are definitely better than MT07 but weak compared to similar priced bikes, and far to a notch above ( street triple R ), this without including weight to the game. Don't get me wrong i love Suzuki motorbikes but i feel like they're going off compared to the competition, stagnating. Here in my country they're not selling many of these, because people really do not like them, you still se plenty of SV650 and for a reason, it is an awesome bike and perfect formula that could have truck the market if properly refreshed. Suzuki isn't even among the TOP 10 most sold motorbikes in my country, and in that TOP 10 (let alone top 20) you find China and premium brands. I guess Suzuki preferred to shoot them in the foot. Sorry for my little rant hehe.
