I moved to Surprise 3 years ago to be close to my grandkids from NW Tucson . I love Surprise but it’s SO MUCH HOTTER than Tucson. YES it is!! my only worry is that my dogs suffer from heat exhaustion but I took care of it with pool , plenty of fresh water and shade besides I stay during the day.

The downside is our city politicians are hurting homeowners by putting mass apartments up. Not in the area they want to attract visitors.(spring training) The apartments are in areas where traffic will suffer. The shopping off Waddell is unbelievable, direction of traffic and parking. No thought, all they care about are tax dollars! We had some terrible building companies. Poor construction of home. The people that bought homes were not protected. Again, tax dollars!
This is one of the better videos dne by a realtor (there are many poor ones out there in youtube land). Kudos young lady! A couple of the pros of Surprise is the proximity to the hiking trails of the White Tank mountains and also the Lake Pleasant recreational area. I agree about the lack of non-corporate-chain restaurants nearby. Although, there is La Bamba Tacos (in El Mirage) which was ranked in the top 20 nationwide.

Not sure if you have kids but I would avoid Dysart School District which is 99% of surprise. I live in Surprise but manage to be in pusd
All this time I thought it was called Supplies!

Surprise you can't get there, is its only downfall. Great recreational and city center. It has all the shopping, restaurants and entertainment.
