ASAP the space between your Engines can host Hangars for small craft. since you can move planetoids. park the one you have against another one with resources you need. undock and go grab others to bring back and repeat! push several together and connect them into one large oasis and plant a Colony on it!

So that's definitely something to remember. Make sure that you're building face north.

In the Saw Mill, you can convert 30 Dirt into 1 Quartz! Found that out yesterday when I was playing it. Not sure if this was recently added.

Yo Z, was playing yesterday I found you can dock planets to other planets same as you do with your ship. You could literally drag a line of unlimited planets around with you. I played a new game and built mostly on the planets rather than expanding the base. One of the tree covered planetoids houses my astronauts and all the farming and research stuff and another is my factories. Fun and neat but it’s definitely slower than building just less resources spent.

Was kind of hoping that the tree place would be brought along. Not so much for resources, just as a neat little resort area. It might take some re-designing, but might've made a nice living space for the astronauts.

That just made me realise, if you put engine on all sides it uses at least 3 out of 4 thrusters, unlike Z1s style that sometimes only uses half.

You don't have to carry anything around with you. Long as the items you need to build are in some warehouse, as you build it will pull from you inventory first then warehouse.

Maybe the retro buster you can use the little electric ones instead of the tear 2 space engines 3:38 or for battery power and Hidrogen storage tanks (momentanealy)

12:20 I personally went and setup 5 farms and a barn. Routed 2/3 of farms output into a barn. Apparently this is more than enough to feed more than 5 people, so I invited not just one, but two cooks and two scientists (so 3 in total). Now instead of lack of food I have too much and they don't even pick the drinks. Not sure yet how many porks a single barn can handle, so I went for 6 for now. Probably some don't grow, though. Need to watch that. At least a farm definitely can't deal with more than 4 cells. It waste time to plant the wheat in every empty cell, but water only 4, so the rest never grows past first step.

The sliders in the control panel - I don't know why you think y8ou have to have 'N' as 'forward' if 'E" is forward, it'd be like doing forward on a side scroller... like you know where your ship is always going to the right of the screen.

Yup can catch multiple planetoids. Dock them to each other and can make a massive space station. Catch is don't undock them from each other. For mine I use it as a second station making a massive area for astronauts farms research ECT. Made a borg cube in one lol wait till you see late game even cooler stuff. But linking planetoids not to many have figured out yet lol I did the same thing of what the? When I accidentally did that lol

you can also click and drag on popup windows so you can see in front of you while flying... - though the movement is kinda janky too because it jumps to the upper left (maybe that's just me because I play in a window and they're using screen coords maybe)

You should do a ‘No expansion’ build where you don’t extend the main pad at all, you have to grab and flatten off asteroids and planetoids before putting floors down for extra space.

The coal and copper wire in to the top. Check the they way it splits. If you have alternate items on a belt and use a splitter on 50/50 you will have only 1 type of item down that belt

When you turned on the engines at about 10:00, it would not have moved anyway even if you where not attached to a plantoid, as you had six engines pointing one way, and six pointing the opposite way - the forces would be equal and you would be standing still

Well... This game not for physicists, and definitely not for astrophysicists 😀

You'll find as you put bigger and more powerful engines on, you do not have as much fine control. Using the small thrusters will help there. Be careful, you will run into electrical storms and meteor showers moving thru space and black holes are a hazard too. Get your radar up before doing too much travel but that will require a lot of gold, the lowest resource in the game.

Z1: - I wanna check that out - I don't wanna get my base close - But it's so cool ... Build the hangar and spaceship, that is what it is for. You should try to move the base before starting to build, just to confirm that the new planetoid is properly connected

Hey z did you forget about the harpoon docks? I believe that's what you need to combine planets. Put a harpoon on each and shoot them at each other and they'll hookup as one planet

I totally rebuilt my ship when I discovered it wasn't facing north. My new ship was much more organized and utilized space better, though.

TIP: Getting hit by the (Currently harmless) meteor storm is an achievement.

I think Z might have watched too much Star Trek because when he was putting in the engines, the layout with those nacelle's, looked exactly like the back end of the Enterprise 🤣

The Bigger engines are not worth it. The power to trust ratio is lower the bigger the engines. You can still move your ship and have it connected to a planetoid with 4 of the little engines they produce enough thrust and only cost you 15 power each. PS. You were not moving because your engines are cancelling each other out.

I had to double check my ship. I went by the placement of the raised platform, so mine faces the wrong way too. lol

MIRROR! use the control centre as the centre of the ship and have an identical mirror setup on the other side, so you have a "space Island" at each side of the "ship". :D

Your first splitter from the storage boxes are not splitting correctly. All the same things are going into one machine. The plitter is splitting every second item and the second item on your belt is the same thing. Your machines wont smelt

I think what I would do is make a massively long dock like structure and dock islands on each side, and transfer all the resources down the middle. Would that work?

Looking good! I wonder what would happen if you moved one of the islands below the meteor shower so that they impact on the island...

I have a weird idea not sure if it would work but why don't you put a conveyor belt just going all the way around the different crafting machines and use pushers filters and splitters to move items on and off each conveyor for each machine and if you have a bunch of the same machine group them together and do 2 layers of conveyors to keep the inner conveyor clean to move items in and of the machines

In the early stages can work. Later the conveyor belts (and tubes) transportation capacities were the bottlenecks in the production. I had to add some storage containers to the belts (literally cutting them into two parts) because the materials/items choked the entire system. Now (after ~70 hours and 5 or 6 redesigns) I use logic blocs and there is definitely have to be follow the "one belt - one item" rule. 😁

@Z1 Gaming, are you planning on playing anymore of this?

Dont fall into the Trap of chaining a dozen planets to your station. Frame Rates Die after about five planetoids connected

The control panel probably needs to be fixed. The directions shown should be relative to the orientation of the control panel. In this case N should have been on the left. That way, with the control panel facing east, if you push forward on the controls it goes east.
