I went to Hong Kong in 1982, for my honeymoon, and it was my first ever flight. We stayed at the YMCA! The most difficult and surprising thing was how crowded it was, but once you get past that, a fantastic experience. Hair, I love my hair short, but always end up growing it long again, because I find it easier, and only wash weekly these days. Currently growing it until it stops growing. My white hair is darker at the back, so I colour that various shades of purple.

i find you really relatable , even though im 44 childless and live alone with my dog haha, i also travel alot to America so i think thats what we have in common , we dont have the same skin tone but i always watch your make up / skincare vids! ive also had bobbed hair in forever unless i have extensions in so the hair vids at the mo are great aswell........ all in all i just genuinely like your personality and you seem a lovely person, i'll watch anything you upload and think its great ......i may also have a soft spot for the manny content :)

Watched to the end, have been with you since the short platinum days because you're one of the only makeup reviewers I actually trust. I love your self-awareness and candour, and your sense of style - we're different ages with different body types, skin tones, hair type and lifestyles but I relate to you far more than 'full-time' bloggers (I am in Yorkshire so maybe that's it :D). Exactly! I have never had a self esteem problem. I haven’t always liked the way I look etc but I think I have always had a pretty strong belief in myself as a person and that’s really held me together

I have watched less recently as find the regular mention of ADHD triggering as I come to KZread for escapism. However, I understand ADHD is part of your life and you're documenting your life xx

I’m not sure what way would be wrong but I’m certainly not offended by your comment, don’t worry ❤️ Is it triggering because you have ADHD or is it the the topic of mental health in general that you find stressful? I can certainly understand that. I think you’d be really surprised how little I actually DO mention it because I’m very aware of people taking issue with self diagnosis and I could do without the criticism. I felt safe talking about it in a video about my life but I would hazard a guess it’s mentioned 1/10 videos. It may just be that the videos that appeal to you are the ones in which it’s mentioned 😂

@@MissBudgetBeauty I'd say mental health in general for myself too. My circumstances are pretty niche but my son has damage to part of his brain from birth, he's at a higher risk of having ADHD, autism etc. He's only 4, so we don't know if he has a neurological condition yet. So when people say things like X could be a trait of ADHD, I will analyse every single detail. Then go into a rabbit hole of looking into it. I'd also compare myself as well.

Totally get that. Ironically, you saying my mentioning ADHD is triggering will rattle around in my brain every single time I think of mentioning it for the foreseeable future .. it’s a vicious cycle for those of us sensitive to this stuff. As you said, don’t take this the wrong way because your feedback was valid and you didn’t upset me BUT if you recognise that you are triggered by something, you can stop consuming that content. In telling me I’m triggering you but that you appreciate I’m just sharing, it plants that same seed in my brain but neither of us are better off 😂 You had the urge to share your personal experience in order to relieve yourself of something .. I relate 😉

I enjoyed this. I literally know nothing about the KZread algorithm. I upload some cat videos when I feel like it. I like people to watch, but I’m too lazy to make any effort whatsoever. a few youtubers I follow have switched to just posting on their vlog channels and retiring their main channel. I wonder if it's just part of growing up process (everyone has been in their 30s or late 20s!) or whether it's youtube making everyone tired of the content push

I think that also you chose a topic when you start this thing and 14 years later you’ve talked it to death 😂 I’d like to strike a balance where this channel is sit down, more structured videos.. maybe topical chats like the podcast episodes and monthly favourites.. scattered with reviews etc and then the vlog channel is my “main channel”

Oh my goodness! You mentioned ADD or ADHD, I was diagnosed as an adult after I had birthed my two children. (I am in the United States. I am in Kentucky.) did I understand you when you said you were on a waiting list for years to be seen about this? I was so flabbergasted! So sorry that you haven’t been able to get this looked at or get any help. And I say that like that rather dramatically, because I have cried to my therapist during telehealth visits when I could not track down my medication‘s that I need for my ADD. my medicines keep me from making impulsive decisions, they keep my thoughts organized or at best the mindless chatter that we ADD people doing our heads where it’s like we have 18 tabs open on the computer at all times it keeps that chatter to a minimum. So I can’t imagine being without my medication for very long at all. Because my life is quite literally hell when I don’t have it. So that front, you have my sympathy. I believe you would see such a dramatic change and how you are able to process information and how you make executive decisions in your own brain. Also like a previous comment, you are really making me consider chopping my hair off. But I’ve just discovered I have curly hair. And I’m following Swavy curly Courtney on KZread and I’m really loving learning how to do the curly hair, but I’m also doing it straight when I don’t wanna wash it every day. But you’re really making me want to chop now. 🥰

Yes!! Seven years is the current wait time, apparently. I am very very close to pursuing a private diagnosis but it’s an expensive situation without insurance and even with I’m not sure it would be covered. Swings and roundabouts. I’d never be without the nhs and but we aren’t set up for private healthcare in the way you guys are Also I tried the curl journey but my hair doesn’t coil and I can’t deal with it for the wave 😂

I’m confused why does palm spring candle have coconut and aloe I get the aloe as it’s a dessert plant but coconut 🥥 hmm not sure.

You dont need to be confused, they're just candle scents. Aloe grows in the desert and coconut could be a dessert - perhaps that's the connection.

As far as I can understand as a viewer, not creator, I see all your videos in my Subscriptions all the time, and watch most, but I don’t necessarily see them on my Home page. Which is odd, as I don’t comment on many other people videos as much as I might on yours. So I guess if I only looked at my Home page, or wasn’t subscribed, I wouldn’t see many of your videos. I generally go straight to Subscriptions to watch channels I subscribe to and rarely just choose something off the Home page from someone I don’t follow. So in that regard, maybe it depends on people habits, whether they subscribe, whether they check their subscriptions or just their home page, maybe they’ve subscribed to 100s of channels and they haven’t scrolled far enough to see you at that particular time?? I’m not sure.

If you subscribe to several channels, KZread with decide the order they appear EVERYWHERE. So even in your subscription feed. They select the order based on whether they think you will a) watch it b) watch it til the end c) watch another after. So if you always click and regularly watch too the end I will likely away be there near the top but if you watch occasionally or KZread thinks there are things you’ll watch more of, I may not appear at all. Even in subscriptions. It’s a weird one but that’s the business. They need to keep you on the platform as long as possible

@@MissBudgetBeauty ahh ok. I’d presumed the Subscriptions were more chronological. I tend to stay on top of unfollowing things I’m no longer interested in and keeping it ‘tidy’ lol. But I imagine if people click follow on all sorts and have a shared account with family, then I understand your Subscriptions page would be a mess and not necessarily helpful. What a minefield!

Would making your name back to missbudgetbeauty drive your vids back? Did it begin to die around that time?

No because the name was such an albatross. If I was still called missbudgetbeauty now I'd have several comments on this video asking what relevance this had to my channel name 😂 it was CONSTANT. I couldn't talk about anything over £10 without someone puling me up on it

I'm surprised by this comment, Janet, You've historically been quite polite but this has a strange edge to it. I'm not having a great time at the moment so I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt because maybe it's me.. I'm in a bit of negative headspace and I'm reading your question through that lens. Money definitely plays a part but if that was my motivator, I would be doing things very differently. I enjoy daily vlogging because it feels for that month like I'm super connected with the audience. I don't usually make more money because less people watch each video the more there are but I like to challenge myself and it keeps my brain distracted when I'm not feeling good.
