Well if you do move back in with the parents, you’ll be part of a time-honored tradition among those of us who came of age in the aughts and beyond. Nearly everyone I grew up with (myself included) has done the “moving back in with parents” dance at some point for financial reasons, illness, etc. Wishing you the best and, as far as closet clean-outs go, I find the simple rules of “hard to care for or uncomfortable/bordering on too tight = delete”, and “well-constructed or comfortable = keep” never fail.

I didn't move out of my parents house until I was 28, for anyone that might feel like living w ur parents is a bad thing ! It sucked but it helped me really get financially stable

I love your comment, I'm turning 25 in Feb and haven't moved out. But, I feel odd since everyone is from school has. I just haven't been able to financially yet, but I'm learning it is still ok!!

@@katlynbrown3548 it's definitely ok, and a smart financial decision! Im almost 32 now, been in my own apartment the last few years, and am starting to look to buy something next year. I never would have thought it was possible but looking back it's bc I lived with my parents so long and saved / paid down my student loans - I wouldn't have been able to if I moved out sooner. reading everyones comments has made me feel a lot more okay with moving back in with my mum these past few months. i've felt so much guilt and shame over doing so but i'm trying to now focus on the benefits of being here like less financial stress, and spending more time with my mum whilst i still can. solidarity to everyone else who is also moving back home whatever the reason

hi there, i just read your comment and want to say there is no shame in moving back in with your family! i had to do so when i fell very ill. it probably saved my life. and i was able to save up money, take care of my health and come terms with my illness. they helped me so so much. they actually really loved having me back home as well. i am in my early 30s and i am now living alone again for almost a full year, but i miss them loads. i am happy i am finally able to have my own space again, but i lived with them for quite a few years before this was a possibility. please don't feel any shame, family and friends and beloved ones are here to support us, just like we are there for them. don't feel pressure from people who do not matter. you and your family know what's best for you. not everybody has the possibility, nor the will, the move out or live alone and if your parents or other family members are good having you around that's all that matters ♥ i hope you actually can really enjoy your life with your mom. I think it's something to cherish and something incredibly special, a time to be mindful and grateful for and I hope you can focus on that, don't worry about anything else and cherish this time with your mom ♥

@@Kx____ hi lovely, thank u so much for this comment, i really appreciate and will probably come back to it in times of need when i'm struggling. your reasoms for moving back are exactly the same as mine so hearing how things are going for you after a struggle similar to mine is incredible, i'm so glad you are at a point in your life right now where things are manageable enough that you have your own place again and i hope in terms of your health things are better for you ♥️ i moved back after living away independently for 6 years with the last year of that being a struggle and i've had to stop working since then. a big thing for me right now is trying to find a job that is within my means and isn't going to make me worse. i deeply miss my friends in the city i used to live in and it can be quite isolating as the connections i once had here have fizzled due to time passing. i tried to move back to the city i was living in, before xmas, and i think it was too much too soon and ive since moved back home again. coming to terms with your illness/disability is so important, i really struggle with it still and feel like an imposter, i think that's why i'm trying to push myself to do things that i can't quite do right now. i'm glad you're on another path and you are better for your time at home ♥️ sorry if this is a long message, it's just nice to have somewhere to put these thoughts across to someone who gets it!
