I love how in Patriots Days are swearing and yelling at the shooters calling them cocksuckers, a lot of movies show the police as just being all calm in a shootout when in reality anyone who wasn't a soldier and became a cop would be doing the same thing, I know I'd be saying fuck a lot like Wahlberg was at the beginning

Hell yeah I love the shootout ones. I love the ronin scene where DeNiro hits the car they are chasing with an RPG and it does a front flip essentially. John Frankenheimer knew how to do car chases. Still think Bad Boys 2 has some of the best car chases though.

Action movies from the mid to late 90s - early 2000s were so good. They had pretty much mastered the art of squibs and practical shootout sounds and effects. The scenes were just so gritty. Way better than the cgi john wick shit imo

I love how in that scene in Ronin, every time DeNiro is on screen again he has a different weapon.

Underrated channel

Thought the new Magnificent 7 was crap tbh. That "shootout" was just so bad. Its like contemporary war movies where all the US guys have plot armour and anyone wearing a turban or middle eastern garb is a bullet magnet. Felt more like a cartoon than a movie.

Yes, the battle of bloody porch is a hall mark shoot out in cinema history.

You should add Four Brothers, Running Scared (2006) and Street Kings in the next volume. Those are three of the greatest action movies I've seen.

Patriots day was great, it showed how officers get tunnel vision, when bullets are passing by their heads, and forget to flank, until one person thinks outside the box.

It's based on a real firefight were they shot at least a 100 rounds and only a couple hit their marks. So the accuracy is pretty accurate 😊 And the old guy did flank them too.

the whole manhunt and investigation of the marathon bombing was pretty bad, the PD was criticized pretty heavily so I guess the portrayal was accurate

I’m trying to remember a shootout scene from a movie I saw as a kid either 80s or maybe early 90s? It was in a house living room. I don’t remember the context, but I want to say Clint Eastwood was in it? (Don’t hold me to that). I remember a woman shot in the forehead. Random, but always tried to remember this movie.
