I love it! You guys are telling each other that this new welder with be for only our use! When you get back to the shop, everyone is there eyeing it as you bring it in - hahahaha. Even pops is helping to carry in the pieces.

It helps with rigidity since the quarter panel is fiberglass and also deadens road noise

I was just curious, why are you adding rivets, you bonded the panel to the body. Just fill in the holes after you remove the self-tapers it will look cleaner and more Oem.

They’re there for added strength. They will be covered with body filler :)

@@Mtech_garage I’m not a body guy and I don’t know a lot about this subject, but wouldn’t body filler be more likely to crack versus a product like panel bond? Doesn’t panel bond contain urethane, which would make it less likely to crack? Thank you for answering my question and keep up the great work!

Are you painting or truck bed coating the metal before foaming.?Does the foam trap water?I have never seen foam used accept on sound deadening on auto interior or houses.Haste makes waste take your time!

My dad is a great welder he does metal gates n stuff but he uses electric arc welding I wonder if it can be used on cars

MIGs also use arc, but different beast than the old regular arc/stick electrodes. Unlike regular arc and TIGs where you need to prep the surfaces, MIGs can weld even on rusted surfaces and provide a solid bond. They're for sure a must in industries and lines of work where you need to be able to repair on the fly.

First I've ever seen anybody fill guards with foam and bond fiberglass. Is this safe, light, waterproof, etc? I'm asking out of ignorance!
