Mountain Men & Delaware Scouts vs. Blackfoot Warriors : Jim Bridger's 1834 Revenge Raid

Montana, 1834. In the middle of the night, a camp of mountain men and native Delaware scouts bustles with activity. One of their own, a trapper known only to posterity as “Mr. Howell”, has been killed by the mighty rulers of this land, the Blackfoot.
Now, these men are intent on exacting their vengeance in the name of their slain comrade.
Leading them is a tall, lean man of 32-years-old, who is perhaps the most well-known mountain man on the continent: Jim Bridger.
Bridger has a long, bloody history with the Blackfoot, and as leader of this fur trapping company, he now heads the attack soon to be made against the Blackfoot.
The contingent of men heads into the darkness, lead by their Delaware scouts. But when they arrive to the Blackfoot camp, they find their enemy already alerted to their presence, and ensconced in a thicket near a river.
The fight that follows, with the mountain men and Delaware warriors attacking the Blackfoot, will go down as the stuff of frontier legend.
Don’t miss this little-known but deeply fascinating piece of brutal frontier history, brought to you only by History At The OK Corral: Home Of History’s Greatest Shootouts & Showdowns!

Always and only loved the exploits of the old Gunfighter. After Finding this Channel by accident i Love your Content even more. Especially about the last free apache and their demise if they ever did completely vanish, wich i hope not. You know German. Karl May and the Winnetou Novels of my youth. Was there ever a picture of Apache Juan? Bought my first book on that. Father and son Journey. Think i am the only German ever knowing about this topic.

You are an excellent story teller! Jim Bridger stands out as a particularly interesting figure. Though he was illiterate he is mentioned in literature buy very many people that encountered him and put a pin to paper. He had that effect on nearly everyone he met. He seemed to strike that perfect balance between warrior and diplomat.

The Delaware were a Pennsylvania area tribe. When did they pack up and travel hundreds of miles to fight with the Blackfoot tribe in Montana? I realize some Eastern Indians traveled West for the fur trade but they were generally few in number.

Most Native American tribes constantly moved borders over the centuries, well before Europeans, as one would take the others land, and force others to find new lands. The Delaware were on the east coast by the 1600s. By the late 1700s they signed treaties to move west to the Ohio area. Later we’re forced to move to the Indiana territory. From there, some went down around oklahoma and Texas (I believe), while large bands migrated to the northern plains.

@jordanpedron3809 Delaware lived on the East coast until the 1700s and then moved to the Ohio region. It wasn't until around 1830-1835 during the Indian Removal Act that they were resettled to Oklahoma.

Have you the possibility, to make stories about the unknown tribes in Arizona or New Mexico for example Yagui, Tarahumara - (great perseverring Runners and enemies of the Apaches!) Opata, Karankara, Tonkawa, Havasupai, Mohave, Pima (Enemies of the Apaches), Papago, Yuma ....... These natives tribes are forgotten in the official perception of the United States? Only the Germans knows about this indians....😀And the peace treaty between Germans and the comanche tribe - still valid today...
