Mountain Lion screaming!!!

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

So here's a female mountain lion, that's not "Limpy" the lion, who's been coming around quite a bit lately. Much to my surprise, she passed by last weekend screaming, probably out looking for a male lion. After she screams, she returns seven hours later and decides to lay down for a few minutes, right in front of the camera.Jukin Media Verified (Original)

I heard this walking with my daughter outside. My daughter was only 4 at the time.. she yelled at the sound saying” hello? Are you okay?”. It screamed again but closer so I picked her up and ran inside our home. I came to confirm that was a mountain lions scream. Chills. Full body chills.

I was walking my dog tonight in my tiny town of 285 in northeast Nebraska and i heard this. In 45 years of my life, I have never heard this before. I thought someone might be hurt and wanted to go check it out. My Chow Jazzy locked her legs, said NOPE, and REFUSED to go in that direction. I posted on Facebook making some crack that if you're hurt somewhere my dog isn't going to be the one to save you. My daughter's husband's mother sent me this video and OMG. This is what I heard!! Over the last year or so they have begun to move into this area. I guess my doggie is smarter than me 🤣❤

I read a comment earlier about someone's dad bagging a bear and skinning it. One day many years later, their dog goes into the back of the barn where the bear pelt was and absolutely lost its shit wailing, tail tucked and whatnot. Animals are acutely aware of predators in ways we could never. So you should trust your animal's instincts, especially at night or in the woods.

Holy hell cat in the flesh, I live in an area where they were declared to be nonexistent in 2019. The last member of the Mountain Lions to be shot was in the late 1800's and apparently nobody has seen any in a frozen minute so assumptions lead to extinct in Vermont but these thick, deep woods hide a lot! There was a scandal when a trail cam caught one after the extinction announcement. Now today my two boys came home from a hike behind our house and came back with a fully intact and nearly cleanly picked vertebrae and rib cage, neck to tailbone of a medium sized unknown as yet animal they knocked down from up in a tree. That caterwauling in this video I heard recently too, I was almost drunk at 3 am outside smoking a cigarette on a freezing cold night so I thought my ears may have been deceived. Now I am closer to sure what is in the woods! Passing through or roaming, I might be right to call the Fish and Game Dept maybe? Very cool if my sons rediscovered this majestic and rare cat I'm excited for the proof / scared for the neighborhood cats and dogs...there is a lot of game in the hills behind us though to not justify coming close to humans but the pets will run into the woods at times. Men with guns too looking to make a high value kill I'd like to avoid alerting. It is pretty awesome that wildlife is still relatively abundant here.

Reading the comments about how this sounds like a murder, et cetera: In the middle of a cold November night my dogs woke me up to this sound. My farm is in part of the territory belonging to a female cougar, and at first I thought it was her. Turns out is was a woman screaming for help. The car she was in had gone off the road and was in a ditch where no one could see it. One of her children had been killed in the crash, the other child and her husband were unconscious. She was pinned beneath the car. Good thing the dogs wouldn't let up until I checked it out. This is Central Alberta and it was about -40F. The people would have frozen to death by morning.

My mom used to tell me about “La Llorona” a Hispanic folktale about a woman that cried for her lost children. Anytime they’d hear her scream and roam the hills, all the kids would go inside and hide because “La Llorona” was out - it just dawned upon me that this cry was probably the reason why. 😮

[True Story] Okay so this happened last night. I’m spending the fall break with my friend, and they live somewhat away from any civilization. I’m sleeping in the same bed as my friend whenever I woke up because I have a tough time sleeping in places I am not used to, as it is my first time being over at her house. I woke up for the third time that hour. It was like 1 in the morning. I was almost asleep when I heard this sound. Obviously, I’m terrified. I thought someone was screaming outside their house. I stayed there, too petrified to move, when the sound doesn’t stop. I thought I was listening to a murder. I tried to wake my friend up but couldn’t get the courage to do so. I don’t remember going to sleep, but I guess I did. This morning I told the family, during breakfast. I told them the entire thing. I even mentioned that I thought there had been a murder. They all looked at me funny and started laughing. I was caught off guard. My friend looked at me and said “Sorry we didn’t tell you, but we have Mountain Lions.”

I came here for the same reason. I live in the woods also and often times hear strange animal sounds at night. Kind of like a loud cat, but you know it's not just any ordinary cat, its that sound that you instinctively take notice of and search for on KZread.🐆

I've heard that before. I was driving with my young daughters late at night through a remote area of California in pitch darkness. I stopped so they could see the Milky Way - city kids rarely get to see stars. We heard those cries and they got scared so we got back in and drove.

I go to a school that lies smack dab in the middle of the forest. I’ve been sleeping soundly in my dorm (keep in mind I look out my window and see no buildings, just deep forest), but started hearing this noise that sounded like a REALLY loud laugh/scream for a while. It snuck into my dreams till finally I woke up, my eyes opened wide, realizing what I thought it was. I listened to it for about 15 minutes and could hear it moving away and around. And then it just stopped. So I looked up what a mountain lion scream sounds like as there have been rumors about sightings and yeah, spot on. Safe to say i won’t be going outside at night anymore... now it’s 4 am and I’m wide awake and I just wanna keep researching about mountain lions!

I live in a rural area on Vancouver Island. 2 nights ago I woke up at 4:30 am to this sound coming from about 40 ft away outside my bedroom window. Never heard this sound and didn't know what it was so I put on my boots and took my flashlight and went out to see if it was a creature in distress. As I neared the origin of the sound I could hear it getting fainter as it moved South. Really really glad my mission got derailed!!!!! I Googled it the next morning and found this video. Yup. That was the sound. 😳 Very eerie.

First time i heard that sound wasn't on youtube. About 20 years ago i was 12 walking back from my neighbors house at night with my friend, i lived about a 100 yards through the woods. I lived on 10 heavily wooded acres and so did all my neighbors. Asked my grandpa when i got home why there was a woman screaming in our back yard, he told me exactly what it was and to stay inside for the night. I will never forget how bone chilling that scream sounded in the dark.
