@@sophiescyclingandwalkingch4294 No, not yet ........touch wood Sophie. I have two options when flying it like this. One is to return to the controller (so long as it it has a link to it ) and the other is for it to return to where it took off from. I prefer for it to go back to it's take off point if something goes wrong. I get a message from the controller unit warning me that in 10 seconds the drone will return to the home point, at which stage I then drop the bike to the ground ASAP and over ride the flight plan and manually land it. Only once has has it lost "track" of me and it turned around and flew back then hovered above the home point until I cycled back up the path to find it. It's all fun and games when there's a lot of £ dosh at stake.

Cool I found your channel when searching for Pennine way by bike. My interest comes from looking at who uses what kind of Mounting bike to use for the Pennine way, I'm currently bike shopping you see. You will probably recommend a full suspension bike but that is out of my budget range, I'm currently looking at Hard tail bikes; such as a Trail bike but I'm not sure if a XC bike will be better or worse. £1000 is my budget. New sub from me.

Hello Cowdera and thanks for dropping by on my channel. They reckon that 29" wheels roll over the bumps better and personally I like the old school tripple chainrings because they gave you a much better range of gears to use but they are more or less none existent now and spare parts can be an issue. I still use 2 x10 which allows me to get up any climb and prefer Shimano to Sram because the Sram seem to be too light and the bushes wear out that bit too quickly for my liking on the rear mechs. At £1000 pound you should be able to find a pretty decent hard tail with some nice kit all round. XTR is way too pricey and XT is nice to have nowadays but SLX will do a very good job at a fraction of the price.

The Pennines way has access roads In this area that are accessible by mountain bike and they link into the PBW and the Mary Towneley Loop. There are trails that link into many points along the Pennine way in this location that are used by mountain bikers and horse riders as well as hikers there have never been any issues what so ever . It's is such a popular mountain bike destination nowadays which offers the great outdoors to a wider audience who are all benefiting from the right to roam and the freedom to enjoy this great land if ours.

Peter this is a well used trail shared by walkers and mountain bikers. Having walked and cycled over this ground for many years it is a well known and established route by locals and travellers alike. There are signs clearly indicating no Motor bikes on all the local trails and there are often police check points where they confiscate and fine offenders.

Mr Daz What I’m saying is the bridleway runs from the rd up to the trig point and then is a public footpath to the motorway bridge . I was on the other side of the bridge today at windy hill and mountain bikes where on axle tree edge which is not open to bikes . I’m not having a pop or anything fella, but some people don’t abide by the rules and the footpaths can soon become eroded due to misuse , and yes walkers do have some impact to . There is a pennine bridleway and the pennine way which is for walkers . Id love your feedback on this . Thanks

@@peterkenworthy9219 I totally get the erosion of the original Pennine Way and it's well trodden path. They have invested heavily on the excellent slab sections now and allowed some older sections to return back to heath and moorland. I'm a big advocate for responsible use by all and I share your concerns as a walker. I have taken part in many off road MTB events all around these moors and even they tend to wonder off one Bridal path to the next via footpaths , the Oldham way comes to mind which will link into Marsden eventually. Ironically a member of my family cycled the Pennine Way from Edale - northwards in the later 60"s or early 70's. Personally it's a place I will continue to ride along and walk as it's just a fantastic place to visit. One of my bug bares is when the agencies put styles across the trails to stop motor cross riders. I have also been on some bridal paths where there have been signs saying no walkers! Which always baffled me too.

@@MrDazP1adv3ntures Now I’m confused! The pennine way is a footpath, Walkers only . A bridleway is walkers, horses and cycles. Are you saying as a cyclist you at times use public footpaths ? We are losing Bridlways which is no good for horse riders and cyclist . We’re also losing public footpaths due to illegal diversions and obstructions . Cyclists, walkers and all need to be working together on this . We’re also losing public rights of way officers . And we also have some useless ones! Been trying to get some unblocked for months now

@@peterkenworthy9219 I can't recall where I was once but there was a sign stating bridal path only not for walkers but yes like many others I will use what ever paths or trails I can find. They normally link an A to B route. Most of them are old pack horse links or additions to the PBW or MTL but there are some footpaths that are widley used by MTBers all across this area. I'm just being honest with you Peter.
