Mountain adventure goes sour as climbers realise they're on condemned route, Outside edge, Cwn Silyn
Having been on Malcolm's bucket list for 35 years, it was hard to resist his idea to climb the top 50 rated climb outside Edge in Cwm Silyn.
Little did we know that thus climb had actually been condemned by the BMC die to rockfall making it dangerous for loose rock, placements and especially belay stances.
With a little more 'adventire' than we'd been looking for, we lived to tell the tale but now ponder whether indeed we've made a first ascent of an old classic route!
Would I recommend it? In honest yes but what I'd say is the first ledge protection is the most dangerous of all, protection placements are so poor you will find it hard to belay and the 35m second pitch is exposed and the trickiest. Watch for yourself amd make the decision. Happy and safe climbing guys 🙏

A great day out i must say. A great Climb even though the belay protection was very thin. The top section of loose boulders must be taken slowly and steady.

k volunteer spend been their lives looking for their personal goal are perhaps the most useful of all unpaid "agents". CIA knows a personal goal as a part of the dedication of the individual, then the findings of that individual are probably the truth and even trustworthy. There are thousands of ham radio operators around the world that seemed to operate this way. If nothing else their signals provide propagation information. Oh then there are also hey I'm sue pursue their individualized goal-- they wanna be the one who records the non official traffic of NASA and Ham records Neil saying he sees some ETs over there looking at him. Then the broadcast that is on the NASA secret channel his broadcast via KZread to all of us watching---- this is the dedicated amateurs gold mine--- finding yeah broadcasting what no one else knows about..... I really like those guys.
