Mount KAILASH - Tibet's most mysterious mountain! S2, EP38

In this video I am covering two very stunning mountains of the Himalayas. At first I am traveling to a Mount Everest viewpoint. Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world with an altitude of 8848 meters. The views are just stunning.
Later, our journey took us further to the west of Tibet where I stopped by Mount Kailash. Kailash is one of the most sacred mountains in the world.
It is also said to be a very mystical mountain with a lot of legends and mysteries, like distortion of the magnetic field or the link between heaven and earth. Moreover, Kailash is considered as a very important place in 4 religions: Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism, and Bön.
Therefore, the mountain attracts thousands of pilgrims throughout the year. Besides the mystical facts about Kailash, the area of the mountain is also home to two major lakes which are fueled by glacier water from Kailash: Lake Rakshastal and Manasarovar. The latter is the origin of some of the most important rivers in South Asia, such as the Indus, Brahmaputra, and even a main tributary to the Ganges River in India...
Join me on this adventure to one of the most mystic places on earth :)

Thanks a lot for your travel report about the Kailash *Kang Ringpoche* area. I still have very vivid memories . It was one of the highlights of my Tibet travels. When I was there in Oct. 2016 the weather was super. Temperatures were moderate, no clouds in the sky and the season for Indian pilgrims had just ended. Except for a few European and Chinese tourists there were hardly any visitors over there. In the small hotel in the village of Darshan *I think that was the name* I had a room with a beautiful view of Mt. Kailash in red color at the sunset. Unforgetable memories. The Kora was hard and since I am not a religious believer I gave it up half way. Also unforgettable were the walking along lake Manasarovar and Rakshthal. Rakashthal was more interesting because it provided a beautiul view of the 7,600 m high Mt. Naimo Nani. When I was there my trip continued further to the arid west.

Wow, you did so well, doing what you managed to do. All in the name of showing your many fans and viewers!! Thank you! Sadly, it is something that I will not be able to do, but, you have given a wonderful glimpse into a part of the world that is mystical. The dedication of the pilgrims is astounding. Again, it is wonderful to see how friendly everyone is. Have a great weekend!!

Is a big challenge at the altitude 5000 level to walk that distance without getting much rest there. Thanks for showing us the holy mountain.

It took a lot of courage to start walking around the mountain. You can always finish it later, for another video. BTW we were impressed with the new drone footage and I loved your "Thrasher" beanie hat!

An unprecedented insight into the myth of the religion with a picturesque rugged and idyllic majestic mountains, your camera captures the unwavering human spirits; of course the "unseen" of the human endeavours in the pursuits of "truth" of his or her religion or rather than the beliefs. Kudos to your marvellous lens with a view of these magnificent landscape in the "unseen" China

This is an amazing video. The gold roof temple, with the mountain in the background, seen at the 3:15 min mark is an amazing picturesque shot. I would stay there for an entire day just to shoot still photos of that scene. These pilgrims are very dedicated individuals. Their believes are paramount for their livelihoods. These difficult walks at such high altitude is extremely demanding on one's body yet they can conquer the difficulties. Thank you, Yan, for another amazing video Where else will you take us in the next video that will surpass this one?

Your videos are amazing! You have opened my eyes to the vast variety of cultures and landscape in China. The idea of the pilgrimage is beautiful and this video was fascinating. Good for the older gentleman who took his 8 days to complete the task - but shame on the man who was dragging along his small son and wife -with an even smaller child on her back - on such a rigorous journey. They looked exhausted and unhappy.
